If Houston wins Monday, does Sampson call it a career? He turns 70 this year. Have no idea how long he plans on coaching.
He made a comment about his age in a pregame interview that alluded to this. Wouldn't be surprising if this is his final season. You can tell that he really loves his players. Great coach!

Lots of respect for him!

I wonder what Duke‘s NIL budget is. How much would it cost to keep 5 first rounders in their roster?
There’s an article out there somewhere that alludes to it. Maybe in The Athletic. Said there were a half dozen uber millionaire Duke alums that got together to form their own collective. Minimum 1.5m to get in, I think. No public solicitation. Very quiet. Just source uber donors.

Good chance BYU’s one guy is outspending them combined, they’re beating them with top 5 hs and euro recruits.

Every program needs that one weird billionaire who picks this as a weird hobby basically.

So after all the talk about the SEC this year, if Houston wins the championship, would that be 3 different B12 teams winning it the past 5 years?

If the SEC got 14/16 this year, plenty of years big 12 should have had 8/10 or 9/10.

Isn't most of this team graduating/leaving the team? I know Houston has a great NIL for basketball, but even then that's a lot to replace in a short time. I think he might give it one more go if most of the team remains intact, but if not, I wouldn't be surprised to see him go.

I can all but guarantee that the spin would be that they're not a traditional B12 school to try to take away that narrative, obviously ignoring the whole mega conference thing.
