Joining the bandwagon on making threads about midwest NFL teams, do we stand a chance?!?

We lost Brad Johnson finally and looks like we'll get Greenway back. (Yes I know he was a hawkeye, but maybe he's learn from his errors) I'm pumped for Chester Taylor and Hutchinson again. If we can land Ashley Lelie, that would be great as well! I predict 8-8 or 9-7 at best next year.

I don't know how many Vikings fans are around here and I refuse to post in the Green Bay thread.

How are the Vikings looking for next year?

I see they released Brad Johnson...who is their QB now?

Traveris Jackson (not sure on the spelling)

He has a rocket arm, but needs to work on footwork and accuracy, as well as game experience.

Quinn would be AWESOME. He benched more than the average O-lineman benched at the combine. The guy is big and tough.

I'd be excited about Quinn, moreso than Jackson. If he falls into the Viking's lap I'd be pissed if they don't take him.

Not to burst your bubble, but I saw or read somewhere that Lelie had signed with the 49ers. I agree he's exactly what the Vikings need, another speedster that's afraid to go over the middle...:wink0st:

I'm not going to hold my breath being as the order is:

1) Oakland - needs a QB, but will probably take Russel
2) Detriot - They might be happy with Kitna
3) Cle - They are in need of a lineman more than a QB, so they'll probably go with Joe Thomas from Wisconsin
4) Tampa Bay- they have little WR talent, so they'll go with Calvin Johnson who is been phenominal in combines with a 4.3 40 time.
5) AZ- good to go, have Leinert
6) Washington - They could go for Quinn
7) Minnesota

So basically we gotta worry about Detriot and Washington or we have to trade up to get Quinn.

I think Brady Quinn will be somewhat of a bust.

Let's take Ted Ginn Jr and give Tavaris a little help. Brady Quinn (or any qb for that matter) won't do jack with the receiving core we have in place.

Yes he will be off the plate before Minnesota gets a chance at him.

Yeah I think that the Vikings aren't in a position to draft a WR in the first round this year. Too low for Calvin Johnson, but too high to reach for Ted Ginn or any of the others, in my opinion. It's a good thing the talent pool for WRs is really deep this year and we could conceivably get a good one in the 2nd (or later) round. Also, if the Vikes are gonna draft a WR, let's make sure he can freaking catch this time!

Good point spk123, I think the running will get better next year which will ease the pressure off the passing game. PLus, Jackson can run if no one is open which makes for another threat.

Detroit doesn't want Quinn. Most likely going to take Joe Thomas.

Do we really want a player with a name like Ashley? Doesn't sound too tough to me.
