I agree with you, I hope he learns from this year and I think he will. As much as we or at least I praise him, criticism is good sometimes too. Being the wily vet he is, i feel he should have taken control of this season a little more than he did. The constant uncertainty of the lineup caused much more damage than good. Next year is even more important to get things figured out early. 100% confident Dresser is the guy to do it.
I thought the only eye brow raising move all year was waiting until midseason to switch weights for Riggins and MJ. Yes Euton had the spot early but they wasted a year on MJs development at 174 and Riggins has improved a lot in the half a year he’s been at 65. Unless all these injuries are a result of poor strength training and practice, it’s just a snake bitten year and still think we have a great staff.

Alright All, I come in peace. I love Iowa state wrestling and unfortunately we were hampered by injuries this year. Correct me if I’m wrong but swi, ech, younger are back next year correct? Plus the frostys, Johnson, Chittum. We should be a real fun team next year.

Correct. Still transfer season to come, but we get a lot of guys back. Paniro and Cody need to show me something in Philly

Paniro can look NCAA caliber one match and then have a 1-1 match late in the 3rd against a borderline NCAA qualifier. He’s talented enough to be an all time great. I hope he figures it out this year and gets high on the podium in Philly

7 qualifiers so far with pnut a shot tomorrow with a win in his first match right? Some weird and bad losses today but that’s pretty good as a whole.

Don't disagree overall, but would hate to see our record head-to-head versus any wrestler from UNI or OSU. Those guys stepped it up and we seemed to fold at the sight of purple or orange.

That is right if you count Evan. He will not be an AQ. Schon, Kysen and Evan can’t get AQ. Pnut can. It will be interesting to see if the Evans go tomorrow.
Bockman won’t for sure. Frost probably will as Diarrhea was his biggest issue today.

Swiderski somehow deciding to go back down to a weight he hadn’t been at in a full season a couple weeks into the season. Followed by AE deciding to go back down after Swiderski got hurt. Can’t tell me those late weight cuts didn’t impact them.

Also, Terukina decided to start the season at 133 for some insane reason. I think that indicates Frost might have not been entirely sure if he was going back down or not, and we’ve seen him struggle with his weight. So I count at least 6 wrestlers who have been impacted.

Now I’m in agreement that Dresser will have a more active hand next offseason, and this won’t be an issue again.

Why wasn’t there more publicity around the OSU weigh in issues?
Once Big 12 heads reversed their decision, there was nothing good that could come out of discussing it. If it was Utah Valley and Cal Baptist wrestlers that were involved, would they have reversed their decision???? I doubt it. Oklahoma State is the only reason that decision got reversed! In my opinion!!

OSU stepped it up??? You mean the donor who bought team for them this year? Then throw in the wrestler who should have been ruled ineligible but is allowed to wrestle later?

I don't see how we won't have a similar issue from 41 to 57 at least it seems inevitable unless people leave. The upper weights are a lot more of a mystery to me and I know were impacted a lot with injuries/defections and we just don't have the depth there.

It seems the belief around here is the coach should have all the say in the lineup. When I wrestled if the coach tried to tell me what weight to go it would've resulted in all kinds of issues from me and most wrestlers I know. If I couldn't pick my weight and wrestle off to win it, I'd probably leave that program. This is what draws a lot of people to the sport. I have no further insight because I wasn't a good wrestler and never even scratched this level, but I would be really interested in how this is managed at this level.

Appears that consi semis will be on mats 2 and 3, with 7th-place matches on 1 and 4.

Then they'll roll right into 3rd/5th matches.
