You would think his first 3 seasons and the start of this one would have proven that. ISU could win the title this year and the same posters will post the same **** posts next year when things aren't going right for a couple of minutes while the team is ahead by 20.
this cant be the same posters who are angry at our ten win football team, right?

Oh wait...

Iowa was SO gassed at the end of the game. Our buddy Fran shortened his rotation, and that isn't the thing to do against us.
My buddy from HS who is a Hawk fan and I always text back and forth during this game. He’s an Iowa fan but not a **** and knows basketball. Told me early we were the more talented, better conditioned, and had better coach. Said Iowa would wear down last 5-10 and they’d lose if they weren’t up 10 with 5 to play. he was exactly right.

This has been our closer lineup all year, when we trade Milan's offense for defense. Last year, we went with size/length and played Watson in those moments, this year, we've gone small with Heise, who also gives us a bit more offense. Some of that is due to the teams we've played. Going small was a good matchup against Iowa and Marquette, it'll be interesting to see if TJ sticks with this or we see him roll out a bigger lineup late.

In his preseason interview with CW, TJ mentioned having the flexibility to go with different lineups, maybe the Heise switch is what he meant. A lot of people in the off season lineup threads have expected us to go small the last few years and play with 4 wings but we really haven't seen TJ use it much, unless he was forced to bc of fouls.

I feel like they didn’t last year because the options were Pav or Watson. This year the option is Heise. Significant upgrade.

I had a previous commitment. Didn't get to watch a single second. But that thing played out EXACTLY the way I thought it would..iowa shooting out their azzes to start the game, then big boy basketball was the difference down the stretch.

2nd…if you’re not a threat to score and not playing good D it’s ok to find a rotation for a game. Heise should have played more minutes tonight hands down. You obviously don’t understand shrinking a rotation
You obviously don't understand how this rotation tired the hawks down the stretch.

You called for lipsey to sit...and he was key to the win and made clutch plays. Milan will.dp that too in plenty of games. You don't just take someone out as a knee-jerk reaction to a player doing poorly.

That's how you destroy confidence and rhythm.

You stick with the guy when you know his struggles, and you get games like you did like tamin at the end tonight, or Milan against marquette.

I was there with the whole fam and it was awesome. Section L represent, I had some good neighbors! We were into it even when the wheels looked like they might come off. IMHO it wouldn't have even been close if they didn't give away tickets to students to fill those sections up, they created a lot of energy for the Hawks.

Way up there

I think they went with Watson a lot down the stretch , he was playing almost 20mpg in the NCAA tourney but I'm not sure if that's really small ball, he's a 4ish type of guy. I also think another aspect is, TJ doesn't have to 100% sell out defensively every possession now that we more offensive firepower. His first 3 years, we weren't the type of team who could trade baskets. Now it just feels like a matter of time until we make a run.

They were giving away tickets outside of the student section to students, to get into a home game against #3?

Why would any student there ever purchase a ticket?

Well I'm happy I whiffed on the last ten minutes. Need to catch up to see how ISU pulled it off.

I was in general coping mode of 'well they still got Marquette and have lots in front of them' but I'm also really ****ing glad they got one in Carver.

1995 me is stoked.

Agreed. Tamin is usually the 5th option now, which is awesome for everyone. Helps him a ton not to have to shoulder the load, and it’s just nice to combine aspects of Fred’s best teams with TJs defensive intensity.
