Not Ames related but closing related. Wendy's article mentions some Denny's and Shake Shacks also closing. What happened to me and stuff like this doesn't have me wanting to stay in restaurant game.
Many a late night shots were had.Ooff. If true, pour one out for the 00’s.
I was just having a conversation with my brother trying to figure out the name of said Mexican spot. I saw Crossroads in Waterloo is being demolished and was trying to think of the name. Thank you CF Ames/Restaurant post. What was the name of the waffle fries place that was in between that and the Christian book store for a while? Spuds 'N More or similar? I was really young when it was there, but I do love a good waffle fry.
When Hardees left, I didn't absolutely detest Diamond Dave's. I mean, it was close to the worst Mexican food in town, but it was always fast and empty. There has been nothing in that spot since they closed, like, 17 years ago or so.
Another location they can run into the groundSounds like Casey's is going into the old Swift Stop in West Ames.
Can it be more run into the ground than it already was?Another location they can run into the ground
Can it be more run into the ground than it already was?
Swift Stop stores became pretty trashy in the last several years.
Hasn't that place been gone for years? I assume you're talking about the one that was right across from campus.Sounds like Casey's is going into the old Swift Stop in West Ames.
I assume they mean the one further West on Lincoln across from the May House? I believe it's closed, but just sitting there.Hasn't that place been gone for years? I assume you're talking about the one that was right across from campus.
Ha - good point. Probably not, but Casey’s will sure try!Can it be more run into the ground than it already was?

Theyve lost their liquor license. Was told they closed as well but maybe not.Es Tas posted on their Instagram about their food special yesterday, so it seems they're still up and running.
Google agrees, and their website still looks fine.
That one has a gigantic overhang.I assume they mean the one further West on Lincoln across from the May House? I believe it's closed, but just sitting there.
The rural Caseys are AWFUL... don't get me started on the one in Rockwell City, that was... horrible.
I beleive the liquor license was temporary. They did lose their 50/50 permit, or what ever it's called, which allows minors up to a certain time since at least 50%of their sales is food.Theyve lost their liquor license. Was told they closed as well but maybe not.
