While you are right, I believe the point was that if we would have won the rest of the day set up pretty good for our rankings. With the loss none of it matters.
But what he’s saying is the rankings weren’t really going to matter in the end. Sure it would look cool to see us top-10 on Tuesday, but the final rankings are what matters. An at-large was only going to happen had we run the table and lost in the Big 12 Championship. We win out and win the Big 12 title we are still in. Nothing really changes unless you really thought we were running the table, which was not likely.

Man I don’t envy the committee for this first ranking. Clemons, Pitt and A&M getting boat raced, us and K State get upset, and still waiting on Tennessee.

Well lucky for you they'll have no problem filling it the heck up with B1G and SEC teams anyway.

Oh I am not saying they won’t but which order of those will be hilarious.
Alabama licking their chops today! If they can win @ LSU next week, they will be sitting really pretty. However, I think they will struggle @ Oklahoma, which they will need to also win to be a CFP team.

I know you are a Bama guy and this is not me trolling, but imo I wouldn’t have Bama as a playoff team right now. Win at LSU is still not enough unless they absolutely roll the Tigers. LSU isn’t as good as people think and that loss to USC keeps looking worse by the week. USC is terrible.

I get that. They are up and down, but they do have talent. If they win out and finish 10-2, they will be in the CFP conversation especially after today's chaos. That's all I meant. They still have to win out, and I am not sure they will do that. Just like ISU, I just want them to win their individual games, but I don't care if the Tide make the CFP or go to the Citrus Bowl against a B1G Bore Team.

Oh I agree. I think Bama makes it in at 10-2 no matter what honestly barring some weird stuff. I just don’t think they should be automatic at 10-2 like they probably are. But how I would do it isn’t how it really works. I believe games and results need to matter and that’s pretty much it. Long way to go.

We are on the same page. I don't think they should be considered over any undefeated teams or any P4 1 loss teams. However, in the 2 loss team category, they have already beaten Georgia, South Carolina, Mizzou and @ Wisconsin which is better than most teams with whom they will be compared. If they finish 10-2, that will mean additional wins @ LSU and @ Oklahoma, I think they will have done enough. If not, off to Orlando, they will go!

And that just goes to the already known SEC and Big Ten bias (not saying you as everyone does it). But Wisconsin is nothing but an average at best team and Missouri sucks. They’ve beaten nobody and been pounded by the two ranked teams they’ve played. They started super high in the rankings but is Missouri actually anything more than say Duke in the ACC or Arizona State in the Big 12? Not sure.
