Fun fact - between 10 and 35% of people will sneeze when exposed to bright light after being in a darker area. It's thought to be caused by incidental interaction of neurons responsible for sneezing and pupil contraction.

I do this for sure. If I feel a sneeze coming on, looking into a bright light can help get it out.
Same. And if someone disturbs me while I'm trying to coax out that final sneeze, I reward them withe most pained hideous face imaginable.

It's nearly impossible to sneeze with your eyes open. You can't sneeze while sleeping. Farting and sneezing simultaneously is dangerous as you age.

I have ridiculous allergies. I can control it with various things I’ve learned over decades but if I slip and don’t take precautions certain times of year I can sneeze many hundreds of times a day, like fits of 50-100 sneezes in a row in just a few minutes.

It’s different for everybody but certain things I’ve found do more than medicine and other things that work for other people do little for me.

Right there with ya. I came to post about a 30ish fit I just finished. I was supposed to get allergy shots years ago but who has time for that ****. It’d be really cool if insurance would cover the drops you can administer yourself.

My seasonal allergies turned to anything environmental, green or pollen. Then they moved into food about 15 years ago where I can no longer eat fruit. Also no barley or rye (no beer) and have to watch my wheat intake.

In a typical day I sneeze an average of 1-3 times.

I was talking to a friend and he said most people don't sneeze even once per day.

I disagreed, saying people sneeze at least once in a typical day.

He has allergies, so he sneezes more than average. He claimed since I sneeze a couple times per day that I must have allergies, too.

I've say I don't have allergies, that's a normal amount of sneezing.
7-8 times/day. I think our firms building is a "sick building" as I only sneeze there.

Interesting topic for me.

I have 3 kids, two of them (7 and 10 now) sneeze probably 27 times per day and have done this since they were about 5. Usually comes in 3’s, guaranteed to happen in the morning. It’s not seasonal, happens all locations (home or away) and is very consistent.

My wife and I have wondered if this is something we should get checked out, but we don’t really see it as a problem. We don’t think it’s allergies, it’s just who they are.

Neither her nor I do this.

I sneeze multiple times most days. Average around 8 a day. They come in groupings of 1-10. Kids in school would count them often. People who get to know me know to wait to say bless you.
