Hopefully we don't see similar performance like we had against Pitt.What if nothing is linear in sportsball?
And what are we referring to when we say 'worried'? What's going to happen if ISU makes the tournament and doesn't win it?

Our offensive #'s are skewed cause of crappy teams we played. Only team that we have scored over 70 points on that has a pulse is Iowa (90)
VA Tech-62
A&M-69
OU-63
Houston-57
I think it was more a response to Kelvin blaming the loss on the officiating. I don't think responding that there were just as many or more missed foul calls on UH is out of line in that context.Wait are we really complaining about officials in a game we won, were called for 7 less fouls and shot 10 more free throws? We aren't exactly a soft defensive team either. We initiate alot of contact as well.
I thought the game was very, very officiated given how hard our respective teams can be to officiate.
If you aren't worried, cool. The offense has been an issue and continues to have some gaps. Look no further then A&M when we were up 20 or Pitt in the tourney last year. It's a good thing Houston had 12 TO's because ISU struggled to put the ball in the hoop for 7+min stretch. ISU has to find a way to produce extra baskets and have some consistency from the bench. As I mentioned, great win but I have some concern again with the O.
I think no students played into that.I haven't read all the messages here. I am glad we didn't storm the court. That is just another day for Cyclone basketball.
Normally I would agree with this but that is Houston's game and they have greater depth in the front line to execute it if the whistles come fast and furious for both teams."Gonna go into Hilton and try to win a rock-fight against an Otz team" is a bold strategy.
Skewed heavily cause of ****** teams that we beat up on. Big12 is a meat grinder and there isn't many teams that we are going to score 70+ points on.
50% of the minutes coming back from a tourney game is a lot of minutes in today's college game.These concerns make zero sense when there's so little continuity in the roster.
Minutes against Pitt last season...
38 = Holmes
37 = Kalscheur
35 = Lipsey
26 = King
16 = R. Jones
14 = Kunc
13 = Ward
11 = Watson
10 = Osunniyi
= 50.5% returning
The only guy remaining who logged minutes in the first TJ NCAA tournament is Big Rob.
This is practically a new team -- especially a new back court with Gilbert, Jiggy Curt, Pav, and Milan.
They actually don't have great depth. They really only go 7 deep and Tugler is the only big they use off the bench and he fouls a ton.Normally I would agree with this but that is Houston's game and they have greater depth in the front line to execute it if the whistles come fast and furious for both teams.
I forgot about that Watson one. The other one I remember was a ridiculous moving screen that Houston set at the top of the keyOur guys are good about using their bodies and less hands, but make no mistake, our guys are constantly initiating contact with their bodies out on those double teams and as a way to slow a guy so they can get through screens and recover. But Houston is the game where we'd want it closely called because they foul a ton.
But I do agree in a game last night some early tone-setting fouls should've been called. It was a bit over the top with the physical play, and restricting motion. There were a few really bad misses on fouls though, most memorable was Watson getting pushed OB after an offensive rebound.
I think it's easy to say call a foul a foul, but what early game was it when the game was called tightly and the game had tons of fouls and drug on forever? Everybody just complained about how bad it was. These weren't made up fouls.
Overall this is a problem in CBB that needs everybody on board to fix. You go into the season letting every team, every crew know that the initiating contact and restricting movement is going to get called closely. But it's going to take an offseason of emphasis at least to clean it up.
Overall it was pretty well officiated I agree. There were a few pretty bad misses but it's not that big of dealWait are we really complaining about officials in a game we won, were called for 7 less fouls and shot 10 more free throws? We aren't exactly a soft defensive team either. We initiate alot of contact as well.

He played 18 against OU and 14 last night (with foul trouble). He'll be in the 15-20 minute range all season. I could see maybe up to 25 if Rob is off or in foul trouble, but 15-20 high energy minutes is his sweet spotWhen will Ward get more playing time? we need him
With a very different roster than that game almost a year ago in a different season? How are they connected?
Yes I would guess we as fans wouldn't want to see the team have their worst collective performance of the season.
