Wow what a game ! I went to this game as a neutral fan, just wanted to see Harrison and McDermott play. Ames could not put Hoover away, as Hoover's guards were lightening quick. Harrison, scored twenty-eight points even thou he was triple teamed most of the night. McDermott, end up with eleven points. If I were Ames, I am not sure I would like to run up against Hoover at the State Tournament!

But I thought the 08-09 Ames High team was supposed to be the greatest in Iowa high school history?
let me start out by saying, wow what a game! Hoover is legit they can really play. They are massively under rated. They have two very talented sophmores to look out for in the future. But in the end it was too much ames and too much barnes. Riley Stuve really was the hero as he made two huge shots in the end. Look out for Hoover though they deserve to be top 5
Hoover is really good and Ames had a really bad night shooting the ball. Also they really needed bubu tonite as he lives for this style of play.

If Ames is fortunate enough to make State (I take nothing for granted, even if they've beat every team in the sub-state bracket by 30 this year), it'll be fun to see them play the best the 4A bracket has to offer. However, I wish Iowa would adopt an All-State bracket.
That way, Ames would also meet teams like Heelan (3A) and Western Christian (2A) amongst others. This way, we really can know who is the state's best!

There are a lot of games left to be played before we get there. At this time I am just nervous that the Lions make it at all.
It is too bad they can't work something out to have the class champions meet to determine who the Ultimate Champion is. Would be a money maker for the Athletic Association for sure.
