Case in point: when they played Ames in 2004, Neil ******* Young came on stage with them, and they played "Rockin in the Free World", "Cortez the Killer", and "Along the Watch Tower" together. Unfreakinbelieveable.

I was there too and it was an honor. :notworthy: I love Cortez the Killer. DMB & Warren Haynes covered that song on the live in central park DVD/CD as well.....awesome song.

Didn't Ben Harper and Jurassic 5 open that show in 2004?

"Hike up your skirt a little more, and show your world to me"

How can anybody not love DMB? My wife doesn't and that's something I've never understood. His music is not only rock and jazz, it's sensual.

And My Morning Jacket. Great show, although the early parts of it are quite hazy thanks to a combination of Old Mil, Wild Turkey, and, umm, well, you guys know...

Hah, yup I know.... we missed My Morning Jacket so I think that's why I didn't remember that one. It was the Vote For Change Tour (unfortunately nobody voted).

Dave puts on a great show. Do you like the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix? Chances are he'll play a bunch of cover songs, I really havent followed him since highschool/college...but its a sure thing to be awesome.

This will be my 3rd time seeing DMB and I cannot wait. To go along with what you said, the last time I saw them Neil Young came out and they sung "Rockin in the Free World' together, probably one of the best concert moments of my life. I cant wait, now Jimmy Buffett needs to do Principal Park. I am buying my tickets tonight actually and am looking forward to a great birthday weekend as well.

Yeah, we caught maybe the last song by MMJ. Of course, there was NO excuse as I lived in Larch at the time . Due to my level of inebriation, I almost got killed crossing Lincoln Way that day...

Wow! I saw Dave & Tim when they played the Civic Center that was AMAZING.

That WAS a fantastic show! That was the D&T tour where Dave was working on his pre-Bartender song. It was also quite humorous because he spent the first half of the show ******** about all of the wrestlers in town that weekend.

I'm looking forward to this show. I see Dave every time they come to town and had the pleasure of seeing my first Alpine Valley show last summer. I'm glad to see Dave coming back after a 5 year hiatus from Central Iowa.

And agreed, the D&T show at the Civic Center was one of the best. I still listen to that show every so often.

I'm sure that you know "Live at Luther College" is available as a live 2 disc Dave and Tim show. Very good music.

I use to be a big DMB fan. The last Album I really enjoyed was the scrapped album which leaked out called (by fans) the Lillywhite Sessions. The albums since just haven't had the sound that made me a fan, plus Dave started mixing his political beliefs in and I lost total interest. Having said that, that weekend could be a lot of fun with the Bars and DMB on Friday night and ISU/Army on Saturday.

Make sure you are not on the Des Moines river under a bridge when they decide to dump the toilet waste from their tour bus!

I was there. NY is probably my favorite artist, so of course I was loving it. Those three songs lasted about half an hour. I almost b**** slapped some stupid sorority girls when walking out of the show, I heard one say on the phone "Neil Diamond came on stage for like an hour......and it was SOOO BORING!!!"

Great, now you guys have me all excited and I have to buy a ticket just in case Neil Young shows up...he is the man.
