Buffalo Bills Damar Hamlin

Cheat sheet. Keep some in your office, maybe wallet, and in your car. I don’t practice it enough, and feel the pressure of the moment something could be lost.

EDIT: please take a CPR course, if needed, much better chance of saving a life.
The steps for helping a person that is choking have changed. RedCross training last year said to use back blows before using the Heimlich.

(Because of kids) I keep a first aid kit in all of our vehicles at all times and one in the house.
Printing this off and stuffing in there is easy and I should do that. Thanks.
That is awesome. Rotate out things that expire.

Waking up is very important to determine neurological function and identifying any potential deficits.

One thing I did want to mention is that while CPR is a very valuable tool it’s does not operate at the normal efficiency as the heart pumping on its own does.

Hats off to the medical staff for their immediate intervention and action that lead to him waking up. That is truly amazing news.

Plan on breaking ribs if you’re doing CPR I’d say.

Also he had some really fit, well trained individuals giving him that CPR.
Almost always. Btw this is why you need a death plan at any age but especially if you are getting older and having an older relative. The fact that more people don’t have DNR orders post 90 is asinine. Yeah I brought your grandma back, sorry her rib cage is crushed. People torture their older relatives because selfishly they can’t say goodbye.

We had these all over the office, but I'm not sure anyone was actually trained on how to use them
The one I was trained on had a pictogram (in the top) of each step;, got to know where to put the pads and what button to push, machine does the rest. Then let it monitor until medical professionals get there. It knew when to Zap, or not Zap, and would Zap again it the situation warranted.

Edit: It also controlled the "power" of the Zap, again based on the situation of the patient.
