I just assume we only want one more guard shooter type player. Unless he is playing the 2/3 and we are recruiting another 2/3 for shooting.
Let's see...Lipsey, good pg but not a shooter. Unknown on Williams til return from injury. Hamilton not sure is going to get alot of time his first year depending on transfers coming in. Milan, Billiew, Fish....wing, or 4/5's. IMO, I'd say we definitely would want another guard shooter type player.

Did I misread something or dream this up, but wasn't Watson supposed to be a good 3-pt shooter in high school?? Hopefully he takes a big leap forward from his freshmen to his sophomore year to get more playing time.
I honestly don’t know much about Watson, but hopefully he’s got a big shot. I miss those days when we had Morris, Niang, Thomas, and Long on the court and all four of them could drain the deep ball.

If you have a boil that starts to "Lafester"...you can have a "Nurse" put some "Indrusiatis" cream on it.

I see most pencilling in Milan as a 4. Is that just because he is tall? My read in his game is more of a tall 3.

I'd call him a stretch 4. If he bulks up. He could play a small ball 5.

He seems to be a more skilled Niang (freshman) with a similar athletic profile.

I don't think Milan could guard 3's in conference all the time. Omaha will do that

This is my take as well. He'll be a "4" in that he shouldn't be guarding a quick wing. But offensively it doesn't matter what you characterize him as. He'll do it all.

I thought with his strength he was more likely to play a small 5 than a big 3, even if that is a more likely role at the next level.

We will have really good shooting in 2024 with him and Momcilovic, which is great since our outside shooting is atrocious right now.
TJ isn't dumb, he recognizes that last year's, and this year's shooting, is not good enough, or consistent enough, to compete for conference titles. I do appreciate how his goal was to establish defense first, then improve the offense.

Expect a lower defensive ranking, and higher offensive efficiency in the future, and hopefully better overall records. Both offense and defense in the top 50 would be ideal.

I think that is because he could use his system to improve the defense, but the offensive changes require a talent upgrade. Offense this year would have been better with the scoring bigs we were in on and Green.

I think the roster dictates he plays the 3 next year. After that we'll see.
Based on watching Momcilovic play against Waukee NW, I see no way he can play SF at the college level. He doesn't look to have the foot speed to defend small ball 3's. And we all know with TJ defense dictates playing time. IMO Biliew has a much better chance of playing the 3.

If I had to guess a lineup next year:

Starters
PG- Lipsey
CG - Williams
SF - Biliew
PF- Tre King
C - Jones

2nd Unit
PG - Williams (Moves to PG when Lipsey is Out)
CG - Grill (I could see Grill starting over Williams based on 3 point shooting)
SF - Watson
PF - Momcilovic
C - Ward

Fighting for Minutes
PG/CG - Eli King
CG/SF - Hamilton
SF/PF - Fish

That starting lineup might set a record for fewest 3 PT attempts

You get off on telling people they are wrong. Frankly I don't care but in my opinion Milan plays the 3 offensively in a 3 man rotation with TK and Omaha for the 3 and 4. We may see all three on the floor together at times. Granted King and Biliew are better defenders than Momcilovic at this time. This allows us flexibility to have MM guard the guy TJ wants him to. Having multiple guys that can guard multiple positions provides flexibility at both ends of the floor.
