Biggest mistake of the night was trying to go into Osun early thinking he was going to beat up on Bowl Cut. Osun was a no show. Couldn't even catch the damn ball. Jones should be the starter and get majority of minutes going forward.

Was Ward not playing defense or something? He was doing ok while he was in there. He actually caught passes thrown to him. Never saw him again.

I honestly think TJ likes veterans of the system to be in with each group, Kunc and Grill first team and Bob and Gave second team

meh I'm not going to put too much stock in this loss. . . yet. ISU played just terrible, and Iowa shot hot early.

Just hope this could be a wakeup call for the guys to not get lazy on defense, because they can lose to just about anyone if that happens. They just can't shoot consistently enough.

Also, like last year, need to get GK to STOP CHUCKING THREES. Dribble in a few feet and shoot a two. I know analytics say that's a bad shot, but that's because analytics expect you to actually make threes at an average clip. GK can not hit threes at an average clip.
Yeah, he does seem to be on fire or =drenched with a fire hose. Not much in between. I wonder why he doesn't do a bit more of the cutting. I like his abilities typically when he gets a decent matchup in the lane.

I think some of Osun's minutes need to go to Ward. He rebounds better, is stronger and plays harder. I honestly haven't seen anything from Osun that makes me think he is that much better than Ward.

I really don’t understand how the staff justifies giving Kalscheur the green light on threes. He’s decent in the midrange and crafty within 5-7 feet. The threes are mostly turnovers and there’s plenty of info to inform that as a fifth year guy.

He’s got to shoot a couple to figure out if he has it. I’m ok with it if he doesn’t start chucking.

I think maybe it is TJ building a program with a base of Defense and then trying to recruit shooters eventually. It looks like it for next year at least. Maybe I'm delusional.

I believe it's more a case of playing this way because with these players, he knows they have to play this way (defensive).

I think when he gets some better shooters things will evolve. We do have good recruits coming in, and hopefully King can spark some offense.

Jones is so much better than Osun. Maybe we promised Osun he would start if he came here?

It’s possible they are utilizing the same strategy I use with my son’s 4th grade team: “Shoot before you turn it over”

I bet you are right. The development of a let’s face marginal player in Rob Jones tells me our coaching staff is too notch

I am fine with him trying a shot or two but he definitely should work inside out first. I don't get why he settles for so many 3s especially after he has missed a couple.
