I am putting Omaha in the Harrison Barnes/Diallo level category here. Definitely wanted Milan but I dont think he is in the "drool zone"
Disagree with the drool zone considering how high level of a bucket getter he is and how bad we need that

The RecPlex in West Des Moines is owned and operated by the city of West Des Moines... Yes, they had some large sponsorships form HyVee and Mid American to get it going but not all of these places are private organizations and nor should they be. My generation of parent has absolutely youth sports and savvy business folks sniffed that out and they are more than willing to exploit it. The cost involved is the #1 reason the Des Moines public schools can't put together competitive teams. Roosevelt has had some but they still get buried by the well to do's.

That RecPlex place in WDM is CRAZY. We had winter soccer training out there and I couldn't believe the size of the place.

We do basketball and soccer at a competitive level and let me tell you, soccer people love complaining about club soccer. It doesn't hold a candle to the cost of club basketball. At least in Iowa that's the biggest racket out there. That said we don't do baseball and that might actually be the worst.

So if you had to choose omaha or milan would you choose milan?
Rather than making a fanbase choose a favorite child with is a problomatic decision for many reason especially because it isn't an either decision.
Just know that we know Tony Bennett, Mick Crohn, Tom Izzo amonst many other high P5 schools recruited Milan over Omaha and TJ sold Milan on ISU. Both are "drool" worthy and getting any top 75 recruit is a major win.

Say you had to choose between milan or omaha, who are you picking?

Both are probably going to be OK after some adjustment. That said, Milan is a couple hours from the Gulf of Genoa and Omaha about the same from Ames. So, it really depends on whether you’re excited more by the beach or season tickets.

At least I’m hoping you’re asking about the cities and not the two future Cyclones.

this place is truly insane. Think it has its own interstate exit.

CloneFreek got me thinking about something, is this our best recruiting staff ever?

If they get Omaha I think it's up there.

I think they might be even if he doesn't.

There will be a certain segment on CF that will be ready to get rid of TJ if Omaha goes elsewhere. It will be 'Fred never lost recruits like this' like the 'At least CPR beat Iowa' crowd.

Fascinating stuff.

Yeah my sons club had winter training out there as well. Such a great setup! Agreed on club soccer. No, it's not "cheap" but in comparison to basketball, softball, and baseball it is. Plus your club fees basically cover year round training at this point.

As a parent of a soon to be HS sophomore who plays both basketball and baseball; club baseball is awful. Even my son finally had a enough of it and skipped it the summer before his freshman year.

Gotta believe Omaha will be playing at Iowa State if he decides to come back to Iowa to play his senior season?

Do we know when he is going to announce? Just saw "right after Peach Jam"... but was hoping that meant last night.
