#1 team in the land, Baylor, is playing in front of maybe 5,000 people at home against an 11-2 Oklahoma team. Pathetic.

Those Baylor fans have never supported the men's program very well, never have understood why after Drew took over.

The number of years we've said that around this time of year and then they went on to win a championship is amazing though
It is, but the last 2 years they haven’t though. Last year Baylor was in a league of their own. This year Baylor still seems clearly better, but we will see.

Michigan State plays Nebraska tonight. So that means their first 4 games are against Minnesota, Penn State, Northwestern, and Nebraska. What a total joke.

That's actually a pretty good turnout for them.
Can you imagine if ISU had won the national championship last year and were ranked No. 1 this year? Tickets would be crazy impossible to get. Yet in Waco they can't even get their arena 3/4 full.

Another of the million reasons they don't deserve the success they have.

Stillwater is in between Tulsa and OKC. That's A LOT of people.

So wouldn't it be easier for both teams to still get good crowds?

GIA used to be a total madhouse and it sucked when ISU played there but was great as a general fan for college basketball.

They’re more a football school now. Plus thunder. Plus no chance of postseason.

It would make more sense if the Thunder were really good...but are fans flocking to a bad NBA team in January?

Thunder have one of the worst attendance in the NBA but still get 14,000 a night, more than Okie St has ever averaged. I think its impact gets a bit exaggerated but it hasn't helped. Plenty of teams still fill college arena's despite an NBA presence.

Not many in similar markets though. IU and Purdue are the most similar I can think of, but they always had more than tiny GIA and are not football schools.

And the college game pales in comparison to the NBA game.

I was looking at BartTorivk today. Someone with some better experience in analytics want to explain how Iowa is ranked higher with a weaker schedule, a worse record, and a head-to-head beatdown against Iowa State?

Even the NET rankings have them ranked higher. Makes no sense at all.
I'll take it with a grain of salt, they also had UCLA as a 5 seed in the tourney and they are currently ranked 5th.

Thought a timeout within 30 seconds of a TV timeout became the TV timeout? Nebraska called a timeout at 16:02, went to commercial, now a dead ball at 15:35, commercial again.

I think that changed and now it is just a timeout so you get situations like that. Two timeouts within 20-30 seconds. Can be beneficial if players need a breather.

Was it in the second half?

The first team called timeout of the second half is a media timeout no matter what so you do get that situation at times.

A couple of CBS Sports updates.

ISU remains at #3 in CBS Sports "Hey Nineteen."

Top 25 (and 1): Parrish kept ISU at #9, but dropped Tech 12 slots.
