I was expecting 11 am and a night game against Kansas is strange but I'll take any chances we get to be under the lights at Jack Trice!

Had it not been for the NASCAR Trucks race at noon that day (on FS1), ISU-KU would probably have been an 11:00 start.

Sometimes Kansas gets night games when networks decide to essentially punt that time slot because they know no one will watch Kansas.....so they put it up against bigger games. But the ABC primetime game is Indiana vs Penn State....and the MLB playoffs haven't started yet. Is there something else happening on October 2?

Just off its face, I am assuming with ISU being highly ranked, Fox Sports wants to try and improve viewership to their late night game. Just a guess. I have no idea what the current Fox and FS1 schedule looks like.

Keep in mind that the Noon timeslot is getting the best matchup of the day for Fox. ABC and ESPN are fighting back at that with putting their own top matchups against that.

CBS has Ole Miss and Bama at 3:30.. No network wants to go up against that beast. So you put a top 15 program on your tier 2 cable network. Plus the evening slot is the last weekend is likely Cubs vs Cards or Braves vs Mets..

If Disney and Fox weren't in a battle for the Noon slot.. The evening game would be better and we likely get bumped to 11 AM.. But this is a DAMN strong slate to start the day

Indiana should never be considered for primetime. They are not good.

For some reason I thought this was already announced as an 11am game. Can't complain about a night game even if it is Kansas.
