Do people really want an AD that isn't willing to fire away with all barrels to promote and protect his department? I don't. Jamie's passion for his job is one of his key assets.
I would prefer he be a little for judicious on what he targets. He doesn’t need to carpetbomb when some of the targets are a lot more legitimate than others.

Haven't read through all the replies but my initial thoughts are good for Jamie and why are some people upset about our AD stating the obvious that the DMR is a garbage newspaper these days. I rarely read the free content anymore and they've laid off or had anyone decent that writes for them leave over the years so its mostly recycled USA Today content and very little local stuff anymore. It's no shock to me that the DMR prefers to publish hit pieces or dwell on things that stir up enough controversy than actually cover the news without putting some kind of angle on it because newsprint is a dying media and they need the clicks to generate ad revenue in order to keep the lights on these days.

Jamie is a whiner, but the people that really are going to upset with this mostly couldn’t stand him anyway, and he’s standing up for ISU student athletes that would love some coverage.

And Birch’s response is really stupid. Really, the biggest paper by far in the state that is 35 miles from ISUs campus covers them more than any other paper?I would ******* hope so. It reminds me of all the terrible KXNO morning show hosts pounding their chest about ratings. Wow, you get good ratings on a drive time show that is the only option for live local sports content in a market that is dominated by local sports. If I give a starving guy a four day old piece of dominoes pizza and he eats it, it still doesn’t mean it’s good.

I'm a diehard clone fan. I grew up within walking/biking distance to campus and the SW athletic complex

I would have NEVER gone to a baseball game and have absolutely no desire to today..

Every men's sport outside of golf can or is competing for Big 12 titles. 0.000000000001% chance we could field a baseball team annually who could even sniff the successes of the Texas schools.

I grew up close to the complex when they had baseball in the 90's and I had a blast going to those games. The team sucked, yeah, but it was still fun to get the gang together and ride our BMX bikes over there and spit some seeds and watch some baseball.

If he takes out "confirms why I cancelled the register" he makes his point more effectively. It would bring light to positive accomplishments of ISU and UNI athletes that were overlooked without using negativity.

Its always easy to tell which guys never played more than the required 1 inning in little league. Jamie included.

They had baseball when I was at ISU and I couldnt even tell you where the baseball field is located.

Out by Towers. Went to some games since when you live in Towers nothing else much was nearby except dairy barns back then.

I am old enough that one of my older brothers played for Cap Timm so I went to a game when I was nine.

I am sure in addition to cost, there is also the whole gender balance issue with wrestling and football. Used to love going to men’s gymnastics too.

Hard to believe people actually care that much about Iowa Baseball. They are the fourth or fifth best team in a terrible baseball conference. Is the top Big 10 team even in the top 20? The Big 12 has like 3 teams in the top ten. The SEC has twice that many it seems like. Big 10 Baseball....... LOL.....

How many of you people who want baseball back at ISU would even attend a game?

I went to my fair share of games. Many times, there were as many people in the dugouts as in the bleachers. I have no desire for baseball to return.

They are still trying the ride their 2015 & 2017 trips to the NCAA tournament, and for some reason the DMR needs to pump them up.

Didn’t say perfect judgement or impeccable integrity. Just somewhere above getting busted for paying hookers for sex at a ****** hotel would be okay with me.
I'm afraid we're going to need to know your complete history of drug use and porn preferences to determine if you are of sufficient integrity and moral fiber to speak on this subject.
