Ahsoka's voice is in this? I absolutely love Ahsoka, one of my favorite characters.

The movie has been out for a matter of hours and you posting spoilers without so much as a spoiler tag? Don't be that guy.
As more and more fan reviews filter in, the Rotten Tomatoes fan score is still remaining at 86%, right there with both The Force Awakens and Rogue One, which is pretty high. Obviously, this movie will only further the critic vs fan debate of all this, which was really pervasive through all of TLJ, but in the opposite way. Obviously, there is intrinsically going to be a difference between how critics, many times non-fans look at a particular movie and a fan, or the general movie going audience is going to look at things. This has always been there and is a good perspective to have as we analyze movies. However, one thing people also need to consider is how many of those critics all live in Los Angeles (its kind of crazy), all go to the same critic screenings of the movie, and all somewhat know each other to some extent in a community type of way. Therefore, there is inevitably going to be some level of bubbled group-think going on between all of them whether they realize it or want to admit it or not. We've all been there. In those scenarios, its not exactly cool to be too different than your peers, especially when any community you are in has a tendency to jump down your throat about a differing opinion. It just is what it is. Surely in our current political environment, we might at least know a little bit what group think looks like right? Keep in mind, there is such thing as fan group-think as well, so maybe we shouldn't get too high on our horses either. Regardless, when looking at numbers such as Rotten Tomatoes for these types of things, people do need to recognize all facets that can feed into those figures.

I think we've seen by the reaction to these movies that fan service is the way to go. Critics want to see the threshold pushed in movies. Fan reaction to TFA was that it was really derivative, but overall everybody liked it. Some fan reaction to TLJ was that it went way too far, but this is precisely why critics liked it probably. This one does seem to be a lot more fan servicey, I obviously haven't seen it but know what happens.
When it comes to big, tentpole IP machines like Marvel and Star Wars, I think we know what the formula needs to be going forward. Don't push the envelope, tell a straight down the middle story, give people what they expect from a Star Wars movie. 100% I'm actually fine with that - I think we'll see interesting stuff come from things like Obi-Wan and The Mandalorian.
There was a little connection there with Rey being able to heal people and Kylo healing Rey at the end. I don't remember Jedi having healing powers in the past? Or am I completely forgetting times it has happened?I'm disappointed they didn't figure out a way to insert baby yoda into the story. FAIL.
I don't want to see the same things we've been seeing for 40 years now.
I want to see things I did not even know that I wanted.
You make millions doing the former.
You make billions even decades later doing the latter.

Interesting. What does that mean for "baby Yoda"? Also, why does healing come from the dark side of the force? That seams counter-intuitive. You are correct in that's how it's been portrayed in the movied, it just doesn't make sense to me. I can see bringing back people from the dead being a "dark side" power, but not healing.(pushes glasses up on nose) Actually force healing is a Sith Power, used for bringing people back to life. It properly demonstrates how she brought balance to the force by using force power from both the jedi and sith to end the empire and bring balance.

You mean like TFA? That movie literally did make billions, and it's the most derivative thing possible.
Well, we also saw Baby Yoda start to Force choke the shock trooper while she was arm wrestling Mando, so my guess is Baby Yoda can tap into all Force powers in a raw sense.Interesting. My overall impression:
I enjoyed watching it and think it's pretty re-watchable. Is it a great movie? No. You can tell it suffered a bit from not having a cohesive plan set in place from the onset of the trilogy. But I think it's a good one and I think it was much more "Star Wars" than The Last Jedi.
What I liked and disliked:
What I liked:
- I thought they handled Carrie/Leia well given the circumstances. You could tell she was probably supposed to be the one talking to Kylo/Ben instead of Han Solo on the Death Star wreckage, but her way of going out as the way to finally break through and start Kylo's turning back to the light was a nice send-off.
- Speaking of Han Solo... "I know." Loved it.
- The lightsaber fights in this movie were light-years ahead of Force Awakens and TLJ. Yes, even in front of the Snoke throne room scene IMO.
- Personally I was fine with them bringing back Palpatine as the big-bad. Though in hindsight, he probably should have been teased or hinted at in some capacity in TLJ.
- Poe's character was especially good this movie.
- Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver acted their roles very well.
- I was worried a bit heading in about how Lando would seem since you can tell Billy Dee has slowed down a bit with age, but thought he brought back that classic Lando charm quite well.
- The voices of the Jedi in the climax. Really cool to hear those. Was secretly hoping for some more Jedi force ghosts but just a personal preference.
- CHEWIE GOT A MEDAL!!!! (I'm not bothered by fan service...)
What I disliked:
- This movie seems to put a damper on "The Chosen One" prophecy. They can claim Anakin technically "brought balance" post-ROTJ, but did he realllllllly if Palpatine wasn't actually dead?
- The kiss. It felt out of place to me. Could have had the same impact by resting their foreheads on each other with eyes closed.
- Yes, the first half felt a bit disjointed with all of the exposition they had to do. Pacing was weird at times.
- Getting force lightning'd to death by himself was a "meh" way to kill off Palps once and for all. Apparently turning off the force lightning faucet is pretty hard once it's gotten going?
- I didn't get quite the same level of satisfaction/resolution as I felt watching the end of Return of the Jedi. So while I feel like this movie wrapped up THIS trilogy pretty well overall, I feel like when you look at the saga as a whole, it wasn't necessarily the best end for the entire thing.
I think overall there is no such thing as light or dark side force powers. Those are simply the construct through which the Jedi and Sith see them. But characters like Bendu from Rebels show that the force in nature is very much residing in the "grey" area.Well, we also saw Baby Yoda start to Force choke the shock trooper while she was arm wrestling Mando, so my guess is Baby Yoda can tap into all Force powers in a raw sense.
I always took it as the dark side was willing to break down "barriers" that the jedi had set for themselves as to not be the all-powerful beings in the universe. A jedi consciously made a choice that it wouldn't tap into the intense power that comes with the force, but rather harness the power and use it for good. My belief was Sith could revive and rejuvenate because they were constantly willing to push the limits of what they could do.I think overall there is no such thing as light or dark side force powers.
