Very confusing as to why the band director would do this. I'd like to hear what they were thinking when they decided to leave through the crowded entrance as opposed to the one completely clear of people.
I want a full accounting of every f***ing move that band made from the time they got off the bus to the time they were ten mile out of Ames headed back to IC. I think our Athletic Department deserves and should ask for that. I don't know about Barta but correct me if I'm wrong; their f***ing president has discussed ending the series over this. That is absolute HORSE SH&T. And it also confirms my suspicions that this is just another piece of manufactured cover to end the series. A little phony theft here...a little made up assault there...and bingo; you're out of your contract. If that's what they're after then good, f&ck them, end it...but let the record reflect who b&tched out and how they did it.

Based off of the murder investigation this is how I thought the ladder may have been used...

Don't forget this is the same school who thinks it is a good idea now to put visiting bands in the top of a seating section forcing them to walk all the way down and back up to access the field for performances.

I didn't think about it until you mentioned this but when Pollard asked whether the UI band would be welcomed next time. I can't find the exact quote, but Pollard said they would be seated in the lower bowl. Interesting that he specifically mentioned where they would seated.

I vote that we pull a Texas and do something like this next time. Hard to push into the crowd when you have to leave single file.

I'd make them some special cold hard metal seats on the 50 yard line, of the practice field. But this is a good second best.

That press conference was more useful than anything Iowa has done since this entire thing broke. My thoughts:

- I wish Pollard and Wintersteen hadn't spent so much time addressing the potential for canceling the CyHawk series. That angle was, from the beginning, a PR stunt and not a meaningful threat from Iowa. Even Harreld knew he'd stepped in it because he walked it back right away. By talking about it, all you do is lend the narrative credibility which then makes Harreld the savior when he "agrees to continue the series," his "conditions" having been met.

- I love that Pollard talked in specifics about the way Iowa, as an institution, treats Iowa's band. Same with the way Iowa's band ignored instructions. Those are all important facts, and you should ignore stupid Iowa fans who invoke "victim blaming/shaming," words they neither knew nor cared about two weeks ago.

- I posted this after the Iowa band director's weird statement from Friday night as my best guess as to what the hell was actually happening, and I'm even more convinced now that it's accurate. Iowa lacked the courage to be forthright with its own students, and ISU's reputation became the collateral damage.

- Iowa, for as monumentally as it's botched the PR surrounding this "incident" (use of quotation marks there is intentional), sounds like they did what they could as far as investigating it. To infer from Pollard's remarks, band members aren't even cooperating with Iowa's administration.

- So, assuming that no police reports are filed - because what exactly are they waiting for? - what are the repercussions for Iowa's band? Probably nothing. But an apology letter for the wall would be nice.

It doesn't hold up all that well in 21st century PC America

....but it's a glimpse of the 80s at its raunchy core

Booger. Poindexter. Omega Mu.

RIP 80s

One of the many (and probably the best of the) Animal House knock-offs.

Animal House doesn't hold up very well in 2019 either.

Dean Wormer is an ******* but he is not wrong that fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life. The whole "incident" with Emily Dickinson College is uncomfortable now, too.

I think we all agree if something happened then we are all about supporting victims on either fanbase. We also all agree safety is important and we should look to increase it going forward.

The issue is the absolute embarrassment in how Iowa has handled this.

Unsubstantiated reports of broken ribs, piss thrown, etc. but the important thing is IOWA?

I just don't think I'm doing this "hate iowa" thing right...
