Does anyone know if the ISU press conference about the band situation will be shown live online anywhere? I am curious what the ISU response is going to be.

I'm not saying that nothing happened, but why wasn't anything said to the police officers that were with the band or to the band directors during the trip? Why wait until you get back to Iowa City?

I think we all agree if something happened then we are all about supporting victims on either fanbase. We also all agree safety is important and we should look to increase it going forward.

The issue is the absolute embarrassment in how Iowa has handled this.

Then prosecute those involved. It's not that hard.
Exactly. It's not like everyone in the stadium was trying to shove a **** down the tuba. It's likely one or two drunk Jackasses that said/did something very wrong and should be held accountable to the courts. Regardless, Iowa can in no way come in all high and mighty. They know, or are belligerent which is more likely, their stadium can be complete sh*tshow toward opposing fans, band, etc., especially us.

This whole thing is odd. I am fine with going after people if something did happen. If information was kept quiet due to a pending investigation, that makes sense too, but there seems to be a lot of press releases if it was going to be kept quiet and nothing really has been said. The University of Iowa sure seems to have fumbled the PR on this one. Issuing a press release, then a few days later saying going to drop it and move on, and then a day later, re-opening it. It sure seems like Iowa is trying to use this as a reason to drop the series without looking like they really don't want to play the game. Once again, if something happened, I fully support the investigation and going after those responsible.

Well said and I think everyone concurs...if assaults occurred, not ok and no matter who did it, should be held accountable.

As you shared, i hope outside of supporting those impacted (or lack of support by Iowa Admin), the story evolves to how U of I admins are just incompetent and their media/sports info offices probably need to be re-evaluated. I'm sure it's happening, but let's hope some journalists step out from the "rivalry" narrative and do some journalism and ask for records from U of I and even ISU via FOIA to see what folks knew and when they knew it...that's the story, IMO.
