It will not destroy the football team, but be a learning curve. I thought Butler was the best WR when Lazard was on the team FWIW. He was an NFL talent right away.
I said the same thing about Butler. And it will be a learning curve. But every single team has learning curves. I trust Campbell is going to be able to figure out the best possible way for Iowa State to succeed. Joseph Scates, a 6'4" redshirt freshman WR with offers from OU, Bama, LSU, and others might be a guy that can be a break out guy. That's the guy Campbell has stated could be the most talented WR he's coached, even more talented than Butler, but we'll see.

Athlon did not even acknowledge the loss of Easley as much as you are doing.

The fact they didn't even mention losing your best WR isn't helping your cause a little paragraph write up is enough to determine if a group will be improved or not

Athlon predicts Iowa beats ISU, but I think that is wrong

they have Iowa at 9-3 (4th in the big 10)
ISU at 8-4 (third in the big 12)

Actually, it is, because he was a decent players, but they have guys that can step in and produce as much if not more than he did. Especially with Fant and Hock gone.

OK let's just try this. Besides your overly optimistic personal opinion why do you think Iowa's WR group will be better this upcoming year than they were last year after losing your best WR?

3rd year in the system, with the same QB those 3 years for the 2 starting WRs, They will be the number 1-3 options this year as opposed to 4 ot 5th option. experienced rbs to take off pressure TEs will not be the focal point. The slot receivers had the best spring of any of the WRs, which is good for the depth of the group. And the possibility of a transfer coming in with a talented make up adds to the group. Calvin Lockett and Desmond Hutson are good athletes that can add to the group.

You've had the same system for 20 years and that all just seems like blind optimism but OK

Our receivers could be better as a whole this year even after losing the best wr in isu history .

Also Easley wasn't the 4th or 5th option last year and you could easily argue losing your two first round TEs will hurt the WR position group

I never said he was 4 or 5, that was the returning WRs. and Losing TEs could help the production from the WRs.

Not possible, no way you can replace your best WR ever with anyone on your roster.
Top to bottom, we could have a more complete passing game than last year. Hakeem Butler might have been the best WR we've had but Coach Campbell has guys he's recruited to help fill that void. He's also gone out and got guys too. When Dee Dee Westbrook was gone from Baker Mayfield, who stepped up? Hollywood Brown. When Hollywood Brown left, who's next? Cedee Lamb. We're in a similar situation right now.
