I haven’t liked prohm since he got here.. and I’ll like him even less next year when solo condit lard and Jacobson are all splitting time for the 1 forward spot. But I’ve said it already. as long as the talent he brings in makes up for his coaching it’s whatever..

For those of you that go to public message boards and Twitter after every loss to ***** about coaching, you understand that you're the joke/bottom rung of every fanbase, right?

I'm honestly curious about the self awareness when it comes to this topic.

I don’t hate Prohm but I had my doubts watching this team down the stretch. Kudos to him and the players for righting the ship and playing some of their best ball all season.

Yeah, I personally thought that he had lost the team and there was no digging out of that hole. I assumed one and done in both tournaments. With the way they were playing, it was really hard to see a different conclusion to the season. I didn't want Prohm fired, but if this season ended that badly followed by what looked like major attrition and a rebuilding year next year, it sure looked like the beginning of the end. Of course, I would never stoop so low as to @ players or coaches on twitter, but I probably did participate in some message board discussions venting frustrations.

All that said, I'm happy that I was wrong and am extremely impressed that Prohm was able to pull the team out of the downward spiral that they were in. I wish that they could have righted the ship earlier, because the conference title was there for the taking, but winning in KC is a great consolation prize.

I do think that SOME are going a little overboard admonishing fans for being upset (Billy Fennelly among others). The team was playing really poorly for a stretch there...lack of effort, infighting, etc. That's going to garner some criticism when fans actually care.

Reality is he’s not an elite sideline coach. However, he’s done a pretty good job here following a local legend, who really set the stage to fail by not recruiting for 2 full years. He’s had a lot of arrows slung his way from within the fan base itself. He’s unassuming, humble, bad at coach speak, and maybe a bit too honest with his assessments of game situations. But he’s maintained his dignity, won a bunch of big games, and reps the school and the program the right way. He respects the job he has, and the history of the place.

However, the most important reason I support him, the assistants, the players, is because he’s the coach at my school.

As an aside, John and Eric even mentioned imbalanced classes on the postgame show, but knew better than to continue down that rabbit hole.

Just an FYI; "Look at me!" posts don't get any less annoying after a Big 12 championship.

Any chance you could wait to see who is here and who improves before getting upset with Prohm?

Yeah these things don’t correlate. This twat has been sitting around wanting to post this thread for about 2 months.

People act like you can’t have criticisms and not enjoy this teams success.

There’s criticism and then there’s the over the top “fire prohm” ********. And there was WAY TOO MUCH OF THE LATTER. It wasn’t just enough to say the team played like crap. Many people had to say the coach was a failure for not winning a national title.

Great win. I don't know what is more annoying though. People who constantly bash Prohm, or people who constantly want to call those people out when Iowa State wins a game?

The Prohm bashers are called out because they only come out to post negatively when the team loses, but don't have the guts to admit they were wrong when the team does well. So, I'll take answer "a": people who constantly bash Prohm.
