What a valiant effort by the ladies! I have to give Baylor credit, they took every push ISU had and answered back. Between their height and quickness they just wore the sisters out. They focused on Carlton and effectively shut her down. They also did a great job of guarding the perimeter. What we had was a young woman named Middleton who played her heart out.

The Bears started out strong and actually built a 12 point lead early. The way the sisters answered back said that this was going to be a wild game. Right up until the fourth quarter the sisters were neck and neck with the number one team in the country. Unfortunately, one of our patented scoring droughts...part defense and part tired legs ended the game with about seven minutes left to play. There was nothing left in the tank.

Again, any team that holds the sisters to 49 points is doing something. For the sisters, not gettin any offensive production out of Wise, Scott and shooting 20% from three will kill the Clones. We had open looks and they just didn’t fall. Two stats will jump out at you (beyond Carlton only scoring 13 points). First, and no surprise, we were out rebounded by ten. Even more startling were the assists. Five for the sisters and 17 for Baylor. Here’s another shocker. Baylor didn’t make (and only shot 3) a single three pointer. You knew they were tough inside and we just don’t have the size to battle with them there. If there is one piece missing from this fantastic team it’s a big on the inside that’s as sizable and talented as what Baylor has.

Losing to Baylor is no surprise. They have advantages no one else in the conference has and Mulkey has built a monster there. Next up is another opportunity to okay back at Hilton. There is a possibility the ladies can get a three seed. At worst a four. Let’s pack that place and cheer the ladies into the sweet 16!

Great summary coust. I really believe the clones put forth such an indefatigable effort in beating TX that it took it's toll on their body. Because as you pointed out they just simply ran out of gas in the 4th and it became a disaster for them. But for 3 quarters I was really amazed at the fight they put up. Middleton was something else especially against Texas. That girl has an almost unorthodox style that is very difficult to defend. She certainly deserved to be on the all tourney team

I don't watch a lot of the women's games but watched last night and was really impressed by them. Effort was awesome, they play for each other and play hard for Fennelly. I loved the moment at the end where Fennelly sat Carleton and Middleton on the bench at the end of the game and spoke to them. I'm assuming he expressed his appreciation for their effort in the Big 12 Tourney and was using that moment as a rallying cry for the NCAAs - Cartleton and Middleton were obviously moved by whatever he told them.

I am looking forward to watching them in the NCAAs - the Sisters picked up a new fan last night!

Scott did not have a chance. I didn't get the game on until two minutes were gone and Scott was on the bench already with two fouls. Then very early in the third quarter, on a missed Baylor shot, Cox comes crashing into a standing Scott on the rebound knocking Scott to the floor who of course gets called for a foul. And to the bench again.

Also I cannot believe that Bridget was not fouled once all game on any of her shots that way she was pinballed around. She spent half her time on the floor.

I hope Bill told them "You might not be 6'7" or 6'8", but you two were the biggest players on the court tonight."

Thank you & congrats on the win. Outstanding game of WBB! I agree that our ladies ran out of gas in the 4th quarter. They played their hearts out. Would be fitting for these teams to meet again in the FF.

Side note: What are your thoughts about Kim's interview after the game? Seemed like she silenced the crowd with the statement about not knowing if she would coach again. Also said "it was brought to my attention today".

Everybody is reading too much into it. I don't think a reporter should shove a mike into a coach/players face within seconds after a huge emotional win and ask the type questions they do.

She had two thoughts running at the same time and she left one to go to the other then came back to the original. All the excitement probably caused that. She started with, "It was brought to my attention today...(referring to how many times the teams have played in the championship)...then she bled off to, "I don't know how much longer I will coach etc, and she said that to bring up that the fans should appreciate the enormity of that accomplishment....then she goes back to how it was brought to her attention about the record etc etc. This caused speculators and arm chair authorities to start a rumor that she was retiring after the year. And she may, but it really wasn't what she said at all. Listen to the post game interviews and it's pretty obvious that was not her intentions.

Good summary. I was there - Baylor is as good of team that I can remember, even better than when they had the tall girl a few years back. While their 2 big girls gave us fits inside (and Texas did some of the same, just not as potent), Baylor played tough, tough defense starting at the opening tip. Like her or not, coach KM is doing a good coaching job with this team. If I had to sum it up - just a tough hard nosed bunch that will play it as tough as the officiating will allow. The Cyclones gave a valiant, valiant effort but they just didn't have the inside size to battle with those 2 dudes - I don't know who does?

She is the ultimate drama queen. Saying that 'even Baylor' probably doesn't realize how many conference titles she has won was a little over the top.
