He’s not going to Nebraska. But he’s clearly backed off the idea that he hated recruiting. See his interviews when he was in Ames a couple of weeks ago.

That excuse was clearly always a lie and he confirmed it.

Fred doesn't like any non-basketball tasks period. He doesn't like recruiting, watching over kids over who occasionally make stupid decisions, and all the other things related to college coaches. That's why he likes the NBA, because he has his small domain of control and he's good with that.

The only possible exception to that rule could be at a place like UCLA where they have the motivation and resources to theoretically remove those responsibilities from the coach. They could have someone assigned as team babysitter, recruiting bagman, all that stuff that Fred doesn't want to do. Even then, I still suspect he is more comfortable in the NBA.

EVER not just decades.

UNL has NEVER won a tournament game. They are the only Power 6 school that can make that claim. Add in conferences like the Valley, A10, American and most of the Mountain West and MAC and that is still true.

I'd like to see what mid-major conferences can be added into that or almost added in.

I know most MVC teams have won a game, definitely most MWC, most A10 teams, and AAC teams.

Fred could get a better job than Nebraska tomorrow if he wanted. I can't believe UCLA wouldn't be interested.

I don’t know what Fred has been telling you since your breakup, but it wasn’t a lie that he hates recruiting.

Still does, which is why he prefers a NBA coaching opportunity, just as he did in 2015. That doesn’t mean he’ll retire if the NBA job doesn’t come to fruition, and thus reframing the narrative. If he’s forced to take a college job, it’ll be one in which he doesn’t have to do much recruiting.

Read his quotes from last week.

“Hello Coach Hoiberg, we’d like to fly you back ‘home’ for an interview.”
Cue up the jimlad

Fred will be going to the BIG next year, but can't go to Nebby because he is going to be an assistant coach to Mad Fran at Iowa. At least according to a past thread at Hawkeye Delusion Nation.

I'll admit. I was one that was too optimistic about Knebby bball.

Welcome to the club who knows that every Nebraska coach will suck. We all got here through a process. It might take one or two or six but eventually we learn it.
