Oh! Was that the preacher guy who spouted nonsense by the library?!?

I didn't actually agree with him either. But I remember being very entertained when someone would argue with him. Turned into back and forth rants for hours.

yup yup. Off topic but I once got tricked by a pretty girl into going to a Salt Company meeting. We met at the tennis courts and played doubles against each other and she invited us to this "party". It was like my 2nd week as a freshman and she was a junior, boy I was dumb.

Nice. I had a short lived girlfriend in high school that always wanted me to go to Wednesday church with her. Her parents were missionaries and she had just moved to Des Moines from South Africa.

She was weird, and that did not last long.

Chinese Homestyle. I'm pretty sure I went there at least 3x a week my junior year. They knew my order before I walked in. Front desk lady was really nice too. Actually got depressed once I found out it closed.

If Jeff's tanks, I don't know if I could ever go back to Ames....

Ya Chinese Homestyle Cooking was great.

I also got to thinking about what places won't close forever. I think Jeff's will survive for a long time as the product is actually pretty good. I can't see West Street Deli closing anytime soon, although I feel like the quality has gone down a bit.

THANK YOU! I could not remember the name of that place. It was a great Sunday night, food service is close, dinner while I lived in the dorms.

EDIT: I guess it was Cocost. Sounded the same to me at first.
Thank you! I couldn't remember it exactly but knew I was close!

Testifying
I don't think anyone has yet mentioned Old George's, OG location on Main St. It was great thin-crust pizza. When they moved down to where Gregory's Coffee had been, they had a great Friday personal deal for which you had to pay cash, but then they just kept increasing their prices and never offered credit card. They just sort of priced themselves out of the market.
This ain't my first rodeo Ang...

Old Georges when it was on Main

Wherever I go, there I am.
I LOVED The Garden Cafe! It was so tasty!

Ah, Cocost, They had those crunchy noodle things and the sizzly plates. So good!

I also loved Suko Thai, in that rotating restaurant spot on Welch up above. Their pissed-off chicken was awesome.

Whataburger.

How is that a question? Waffle House is a distant second, screw the others.
Give me 24 hour made to order breakfast spot, whataburger is glorified BK, never been to a bojangles and if you vote RUNZA get the **** out of Ames and go back to Nebraska you dirty Husker.
In and Out would be a different story.
