I do think the bright side of all of this is that I think this is close to the bottom of the barrel. A lot of what we are doing poorly can be coached and fixed. What we sorely lack is size. And that's something you can't coach. We could really use Solomon Young right now, but I can't say that he'd be the difference maker we need. We'll have to see what Prohm can do to "fix" this team because the current system is broken.

One bad offensive game against a good defensive team and....meltdown. Not classy. Especially since a lot of the melters are the same melters from the past few years that melted because we didn't live up to their defensive expectations.

When was he last time we held a team with a pulse under 60? In OT nonetheless.

Come down from the ledge, son. Cincinnati is picked to win their conference. Honestly, we made some bad plays and got some bad calls down the stretch. Not the end of the world. They'll be working on their issues and will find a way to correct them. If you told me at the start of the season that our defense would be carrying us, I would have said you're high. That said, time to work on the offense Coach.

Saying they are picked to win their conference isn't saying much

OK. I am cooled down (a bit). This team will learn and grow. Need to be smarter in the last 2 minutes. If not, long season ahead.

In the grand scheme of this season, this loss might not matter much, but it still sucks right now. I'm almost more upset that we ended our home non-con streak and will most likely end our Top 25 streak next week. Prohm made adjustments last year and I'm confident he'll do so again this year, but that doesn't mean we can't be upset with the end of game coaching right now.

In the end ISU lost to a more physical, get in your face, play rough team and the calls didn't got ISU's way team. They have lost to teams like this before. No reason to jump of the ledge.

Possibly "over his head" clueless? Maybe.

I just read that Solomon might be back for Iowa. I see the bright side as being that are problems are on the offensive side of the ball. The size will always be a problem, but we've faced two very big, physical teams in a row and that's not what got us beat.

I am not getting too bent out of shape yet. Every ISU team of the last 6-7 years has had a couple bad losses.

2015- UNI
2014-Maryland and South Carolina, T Tech
2012- Cincy, UNLV, Iowa, T Tech
2011-Drake, UNI

Comparing this team to the McDermott years is ridiculous (but maybe a foreshadowing of next year). This team will bounce back and do well in the conference again. I would rather lose now and learn from it than during conference.

In the last 2 games our final possessions have been horrible. We should probably work on it more

There's legit discussions from the last 3-4 min of Zaga and this game regarding the lack of offensive strategy; little to no off ball movement, and this O's ability to recognize what to run and how to close a game.

I'm guessing they have a ceiling of a 4 seed, with 5-6 most likely. They're better than they were last year, as their few losses have been well replaced (and last year, they made the tournament despite losing a ton of very close games just like this one).

We're missing a post player. That simple. Prohm should have recruited better.

Im not convinced Cincinnati is as good as people think. The probably will finish top 2 in the AAC, but UConn is terrible and they play teams like Tulane, Tulsa, ECU, and USF. Hard to say.
