Random Thoughts VIII: The Ocho

this project with this vendor will never be done. We finally got a realistic timeline out of them and it's early next spring if everything goes well with zero delay. Hahahahaha. The PM is like I think they've just been telling us what we want to hear in regards to all the other completely blown deadlines. Yeah, kinda figured on that one already.

I mean, that's what I've been thinking anyway because I was already fairly certain the end of this year wasn't feasible anyway.

At what point do I mention to my manager that DH and I are seriously contemplating a trip abroad for a good portion of late May/early June so that I can be off the hook for that now when May 1st rolls around and they are like whoopsies, we need to work with CG during that time frame like they did with our trip this summer? Maybe I'll do that on our work trip next week.

I suppose coworker just spent 2-3 weeks out of the country and they worked on other stuff even though they needed to work with her. Whatevs, coworker already pushed that trip back six months because of an accident and they were aware well in advance.

TGIF.

Sign up for vacation and go, the world keeps spinning. That project seems to be cluster **** looking in from the outside. Companies are big, stuff will get done or pushed back what ever is more convenient.

in semi-related news, DH has previously mentioned that there is a daycare center right near where he works. This is good.

I find out last week a new one is going in literally across the street from me. This is also good.
DH replies with news that another one is going in kitty corner from his workplace. There's a pretty high demand up here and I've heard wait lists can be like six months so it's good that more are going in..........and so convenient for DH and I.......

we shall see ;) I could really put a wrench in things if I chose to do that now. The downside is I'd have to train somebody to do what I'm currently doing and I really don't want to do that. I'd prefer they get their **** together and get it automated.

Not intending to sound judgy, but I can't imagine planning family around work tasks. The company can deal with that part of things.

Work? Whew, I thought she was talking about servicing DH.

Just go on the trip and get knocked up already. Better act quick since it looks like WDSM is distracted by 55.

I'm back! Apologies for the in and out at random times over the summer. :jimlad: Had a lot of work, work travel/training and weddings.

You two are too young but does anybody else miss the old make-out mixtapes?

Baaa-beee-yaaaaaaa-yaa-yaa, ooh I get chills when I'm with you

I had cassette tapes when I was a kid (not makeout cassettes, though.) but mixed CDs, totally had those.
