I really hate this "testing the waters". He's one over 100 players trying this. Probably won't get a combine invite

Not great news.

But it again makes me thankful Monte made his decision early.

This new NBA rule is great for the players but must really give the coaches heartburn.

Has anyone checked on Thompsonclone yet? Suicide watch may be necessary if he doesn't come to ISU.

Hopefully this is him getting prepared for next year at this time after he has a great year.

I bet the NBA tries to stop this. Like you cannot come to the combine without an agent in the future.

I agree. Only about 60 players will actually attend the combine. I don't see Malou's stock being high enough right now to get an invite.

Hopefully he makes this decision quick and comes to Ames next year.

There really is no drawback to doing this.

probably no downside for him. Potentially big downside for the schools that are sitting around waiting for 3 months. It's kind of like knowing your coach is leaving for the NBA but he kills time for 3 months

Malou was always a wildcard. This changes little.

Maybe he just wants to protect his adopted homeland of Australia by joining their navy. Maybe NBA stands for National Boat defense of Australia.

No. I am not in denial.

A sick feeling creeps in when I think about Cameron Lard and Malou finding their way out of Iowa State.

Get used to players testing the waters like this. No reason to freak out. If he's good enough to make it in the NBA, then good luck to him.
