We are the St. Louis Cardinals. We don't find excuses, we find solutions. This is a winning franchise and will be fine. Still have 4 GREAT starters. Waino is coming back too. Nobody (especially the Dodgers and Cubs) want any part of us. This team is going to the World Series.

Really? You think either of these teams view your team as MORE challenging than the Pirates or Mets right now? Get a grip and come back to reality.

I'll excuse your homerism for a moment, but the Cards have had the Dodgers/Cubs number. You really can't dispute this. Pirates are decent, though I don't think they are beating the Cards in a 5 game series, and the Mets have a strong staff, but chemistry (Harvey)/offensive issues going into playoffs (offense has been good of late but playing good 1/5 months of the year doesn't convince me).

You realize the Cubs have a winning record against the Cardinals in the second half, right?

And that the only two Cardinals wins this second half against the Cubs have been literally handed to them by **** poor pitching in the last inning? As in the Cardinals didn't even earn the win? The pitching literally gave them the game?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I want to face the Cardinals more than any other team. But it's not like they're the one team I'd give anything for the Cubs to avoid. In fact, the Dodgers and Mets pose a much bigger threat than the Cards for the Cubs, as their top two pitchers from both squads have done a ton more damage to the Cubs than the Cardinals.

I will not defend Bode on this but the bolded is just stupid.

I hope the Cardinals face the Cubs in the NLDS. Take that however you wish

You and I have had our differences in the past, but I'm glad you're not accepting this crap too.

If the Cubs get punked again tomorrow at Wrigley by Pittsburgh then this conversation will be completely irrelevant because Chicago will end up playing a grand total of one playoff game this season

Cards won the season series by a few games but the Cubs took 4 of the last 6. Definitely no domination which is what you seem to be implying. Consider your bs argument disputed.

Posts like these are why none of the baseball fans here like you. It also probably doesn't help that you make yourself look like a dumb *** everywhere else on the site either.

I just hope they enjoy their one game playoff. Making the playoffs is an achievement for many franchises, and they should be proud of that. Not every team should have World Series or bust expectations. That's just reality.

Well if the season rides on tomorrow's outcome, I feel pretty good knowing Arrieta is on the hill.

Matt Carpenter removed from the game tonight with left hip tightness as the number of injured Cardinals now rises to 142,856

Why cant the Pirates just give up, so we can rest our players.

Better yet, just seed the teams by record. Its ******** that the Pirates and Cubs are wildcards, especially the Pirates

I'm sorry, I really do respect most of the Cardinal fans on here, but if you truly think the Cubs would rather face the Dodgers over the Cardinals, you're an idiot.

That's not being a Cub homer...it's stepping back and understanding how this game works.

I'm not saying the Cubs will beat either/or. But the Cubs have proven they can't touch Greinke or Kershaw. They can't touch Syndergaard or Harvery. But they can actually put SOME runs up on the Cardinals pitching.

So my argument is basically...get off your high horses (BodeClone) because your team isn't the most feared team come playoff time when it's just the top 3 pitchers that matter.

Last nights Cubs game made the argument of best first half team makes playoffs and best second half team makes playoffs.

Which would've been interesting, because the Cubs and Cards would be in the playoffs but the Pirates would not.

I'll be honest with you, you have potential to be a good poster on here. You are definitely not the worst on here, but you lose me when you go too far with comments like this.

Pretty sure Cubs is one of the most liked posters on this site. You on the other hand, are definitely at the bottom.
