Day drinking is great as long as it doesn't continue into night drinking. Those are the nights that end poorly. 14 hours of booze is a marathon I don't want to run (but sometimes still do).
Are people really basing their answers on being able to drive drunk without getting caught? If you've had too many where you're at or over 0.08 then you shouldn't be driving regardless of time.
