At the point the episode took place though, it had worked for him 2 times already. She was the 1 that initially made it '2/3' instead of 'works every time'
Pretty awful episode tonight, I thought. And a flash to 2016 with Barney and Robin having rings on their fingers? So help me God, if they marry those two in the end, I'm burning every season I own on DVD.
In the first season, they say Barney is a life long bachelor. If they're gonna hold true to the story line, they'd better make something happen.
Part of the storyline is that Barney changed. Pop he's funnier as a bachelor but it's not like you'll have to watch a married Barney for too long. Plus he had tons of girlfriends throughout the show.
I mean future Ted. When talking to his kids refers to Barney as a life long bachelor. Which, one would assume, would mean he couldn't have been married in 2016? That said, I think the writers are getting incredibly lazy, so nothing would surprise me anymore.
trust us, it's painful and self-torture. Like everyone else, I'm only watching because I have since the beginning and you just have to finish it out.
The series and the fans. Gotta admit, I'm not liking how its looking any of this is shaping up.
I dont see it as a giant middle finger. It explains why the story was being told to begin with.
And i've kind of been thinking this was the direction it might be heading ever since the episode (time travelers) that took place about a month before the wedding weekend where he was all like I'd do anything just to have had those few extra days with her". If her dying ends up being the end of this show, theyve been hinting it for a long time.
The mother being dead wouldn't be a surprise to those who have paid attention to the entire series.
its not just that line even that points to it. When she talks about being afraid that he lives too much in his stories, she could be saying she's afraid he'll never be able to move on after her.
