I didn't mean to bust your balls. Thanks for taking the time to organize everything this year.
Week 1: North Texas
Week 2: Minnesota
Rofl, my bad. I didn't even see the game had already been played. I'll just have to pick a different team. I just noticed that East Carolina was a 15 point favorite against whoever they were playing and that they had Virginia Tech next week. I didn't even think about whether or not they were the Thursday game.
You have to be careful with ESPN because they list all games with FBS teams, but it includes some where an FCS team plays an FBS team. I'm surprised no one caught it earlier. Usually there is someone who catches these things. Ideally, anyone picking Maryland should make another pick, not take advantage of your mistake. The rule says "pick an FBS team playing another FBS team," not "pick a team that CyCash lists, even by mistake." The responsibility is on us making our picks. Your lists are a tool to help us, but shouldn't trump reality.
It is really hard to run this game and not make mistakes. I made mistakes that needed to be corrected nearly every week last year. This year, CyCash has twice as many people to track. I think we should all take responsibility for making our own picks according to the rules. If we pick an FCS team by mistake, even if CyCash put it on the list, we should make another choice or voluntarily opt out. Or ... we could give them a mulligan, but that will hit the fan.
Good catch. We all need to help CyCash patrol the game. It is really tough for one person to catch everything.
P.S. Most of the "violations" last year were just unintentional mistakes that could be corrected, but only if someone brings it to our attention in time.
