I would venture to say that 98 percent of the time its discussed before a major banning, thread closing or thread removal. With over the top trolls it tends to be at on a whim, because honestly, who wants those turds here.

Unless something is incredibly egregious, most things go through committee. We usually like to have a few votes on something before acting. However, there are some judgment calls we have to make at the time due to time constraints.

Occasionally in the past, I noticed that it takes some time for posts to show up (or I see that there is another page, but I can't open it). Do you ever use a filter for a thread whereby posts can't show up until they are approved by a mod? Seems like a good way to keep a volatile discussion from going over the top.

Interesting that you use this word. A little birdie once told me that you and your little government acquaintances (the Mayor, the DA, the PC) are quite the schemers yourselves.

Nope, currently the only posts that ever go "moderated" and have to be touched before they post are from spammers. I think there's a feature where we could maybe moderate ALL posts, but I think it may be all or nothing? I'm not sure!

If you have extra pages that you can't access, usually it's from a quirk in vBulletin. It seems like our monster-long threads do this, especially if a lot of posts have been deleted.

For real - I'm not sure if you've noticed but over the last month or so, the amount of spam we've been seeing on this site has been insane.

I've been forced to tweak a few things on the site and as a result, it is a lot more work/time for the mods. These people volunteer their time to make this the best damn fan site on the Internet. CF would not be CF without our moderators so today, Wednesday, April 10 2013, I declare as Moderators Are Awesome Day at CycloneFanatic.com.
