Just as an FYI, 2013 Byron Zeigler committed to South Florida today while on an official visit (first reported by @ScoopIPS on Twitter). Iowa State was not actively recruiting Zeigler, however I know many of you like to know where recruits that we were interested in end up at.

Wayne Selden to KU. We never offered, I suspect because Fred knew/was told he'd be blue-blood bound, but now we get to face him. KU is recruiting well...duh.

Wayne Selden, ESPN 100's No. 14 recruit, commits to Kansas Jayhawks for 2013 - ESPN

Self has done a great job with the 2013 class. This is his third top 30 player signed in the class. You guys seem to be doing a great job on the trail, too. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing ISU a consistent challenger in the Big XII.

I won't lie...I don't look forward to the Cyclones facing Selden. Good luck to him in the future but I hope he doesn't beat ISU

Scout, Inc. has an updated story (premium) which touches on the prospect of 2014 Reid Travis playing two-sports at college. Boston College has apparently indicated that he could and has offered in both sports. Iowa and Minnesota are both expressing interest in him as a football player along with a few others. Will be interesting to watch how it plays out as he is obviously a very talented athlete.

I apologize if this has been posted before, but I see that ISU is recruiting a big guy from the Quakerdale Prep School in New Providence, IA. He committed to WSU out of high school but didn't qualify and the guy that recruited him is now gone. He is supposed to be taking a recruiting trip to Ohio State this weekend, but they have yet to offer. It looks he has some good offers. I hope they grow as a prep school as it would benefit recruiting. Cornell Mann is recruiting him. Does anyone know anything about him? From what I have read is that he is long and athletic, and has an upside. He is originally from Dayton, OH. He is #3 in the videos and goes by "Teddy Hawkins." He has some decent dunks.

So he was originally a class of 2012 recruit, signed with Wichita State, didn't qualify, and now is a prep school and would be a class of 2013 recruit with a full 4 years of eligibility left?

Yes, he is reclassified to 2013 and has 4 years to play. It is nice to see an Iowa prep school.

I can't dunk.
Well I can dunk. Nothing impressive, but still counts. Not impressed by someone who's only highlights are a couple of wide open dunks. Being a D1 basketball player in the big 12 requires more. How good would booker have been last year if he could shoot threes? He also has a much larger frame with excellent athleticism. He was a top 50 player coming out of high school and he is no where near one of the top players in the conference. Not impressed by this dude.

I'm going to guess that if we offer it isn't because of this highlight film. I have that much faith in the staff.

If we offer I wouldn't be upset about it. We can afford a risk/project and have some decent talent for the future in Niang and Percy and hopefully Amardi fills a role for a year. He has a couple years to develop and we can over recruit him if it doesn't work out. We could use a solid role player as well.
