Maurice Jones from USC? Possible transfer maybe? Has to sit out this year anyway for academic reasons. SDW sent a message to him via Twitter 12 minutes before posting the above message that read, "@10mjones Let's get it bro" Looked as if they were talking about hoops. (Jones's tweets are protected (you can't read them if he doesn't allow you to)

Nice work Josh!! I think your on to something...but another guard??? We are loaded with guards! Lets say Jones does transfer to Iowa State and has to sit out a year. He would then have to compete with Thomas, SDW for playing time?
It's a good problem to have if it plays out, also a sign of an improving respect for the program in my opinion. Again, other than a little digging into the tweet this is all hearsay from Twitter.
Better to have a problem of to many guards than a post filled roster with to few guards. The idea of having a crap ton of posts is better on paper than in real life. Happened to the gophers two years ago. was a catastrophy.

Southern California guard Maurice Jones will miss the upcoming basketball season because of academic reasons but will return for his senior season in 2013-14.
So looks like he'd be a one year player. Some things that may entice him to transfer...
*He'd be closer to home
*Finish his college career with what should be a competitive team

Pretty sure he would be a RS Jr. He was class of 2010. Played in 2010-11. Played in 2011-12. Would RS for 2012-13. Which would put him at a RS Jr.
Also is he a PG or SG?
Yeah sounds like he would be a replacement for Bubu then. But if Bubu isn't guilty/kicked off the team we would have 4 PGs for the 2013-14 season. I don't think Naz or Monte would be too happy about signing him.
I don't think he could red shirt if he has academic ineligibility? I may be wrong though.
pretty sure you have 5 years to complete 4 regardless of the reason. I could be wrong also.
