Mediacom doesnt carry ESPNU in their normal expanded basic cable package. For some reason. It sucks.

Its like... 3 bucks to add the sports pack which contains it and several other channels.

So, ESPNU is the answer. ESPN3 is a no-go. That's what I'm taking from all of this.

What is everyone talking about? I just went to espn3.com (which redirects to watchespn) and the ISU v. Baylor game is on the schedule for tonight:

NCAAM
2/13 5:30 PM EST St. John's vs. Georgetown (re-air) ESPNU
2/13 7:00 PM EST Jacksonville vs. East Tennessee State (Exclusive) ESPN3
2/13 7:00 PM EST #2 Syracuse vs. #18 Louisville ESPN
2/13 7:00 PM EST Iowa State vs. #10 Baylor ESPNU
2/13 7:00 PM EST #2 Syracuse vs. #18 Louisville ESPN3
2/13 9:00 PM EST Maryland-Eastern Shore vs. Coppin State ESPNU
2/13 9:00 PM EST #5 Kansas vs. Kansas State ESPN
2/13 9:00 PM EST #5 Kansas vs. Kansas State ESPN3
2/13 9:00 PM EST Maryland-Eastern Shore vs. Coppin State ESPN3

I'm curious why this one game is different than every other ESPN3 game I've ever watched or seen listed since it came into existence, meaning several hundred games including many on ESPNU the past couple years.

In the past, 100% of games I've seen in the "upcoming" section have been in fact "upcoming" and on ESPN3 when the event starts.

If it's not on ESPN3, there's an error on their site because it shouldn't even be in the upcoming section as it most definitely is.

When an NBA game is on ESPN and ESPN3, it will be in the "Upcoming" tab. When it's not going to be on ESPN3, it won't be in that "Upcoming" tab.

Basically I still think it will be on ESPN3 until I see it's not. If it's not than it's an anomaly and kudos to people for calling in.

ESPN3 and ESPNU can be watched on Watchespn. However, that is only if your provider has signed up for that with ESPN. Most companies only are signed up for ESPN3, and not the full watchespn package including ESPNU.

If i had to guess, i'd guess that those that include ESPNU in their basic packages get it thrown in, but those that make you order it in a secondary tier dont have online availability. Its their way of trying to get more subscribers to espnU (they do the same with the LHN, i believe if your provider has that you can also get the LHN on watchespn)

This isnt the first time i've seen this happen. I thought it might be a good idea to try to get an ESPNU game on espn3 since the picture quality on the stream would probably be better than standard def ESPNU. Unfortunately it wasnt an option then either.

This has been discussed in full already. Notice how it says ESPNU? Well that's not ESPN3. Unless you have ESPN3 or any of the other mentioned services you will NOT get the game.

I'm pretty sure they're all mistaken. I use ESPN3 almost daily and this looks 100% like a game that's going to be on ESPN3 (providing your ISP allows it).

I get how they could be confused that it only says ESPNU, they don't realize EVERY game in that upcoming schedule is going to be on ESPN3 when it goes live.

Read my explanation I've wrote above. I've also been watching ESPN3 for nearly all my games for over 3 years now and what I explained is correct and simply pulled off of their "What is WatchESPN" link on their website. I totally agree that they make this thing way way more complicated than it should be.

EVERY game in the upcoming section is always on ESPN3 in my experience. It doesn't matter if the side says ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3 or ESPNU. Just the fact that it's in that section "upcoming" means it is on.

Now this could be some weird anomaly and the first time that is not the case, but normally what the guy posted and what everyone is looking at means it is on ESPN3 as long as your ISP carries it.

I love the debate here. One side sticks to their guns, the other side does too. I'm definitely on the side that you won't get the game and am sticking by it. Feel free to rub it in my face if I'm wrong, but if that is the case, then I'm okay with it because then I'll be watching the game at home like I'd like to. However, I don't think I'm wrong.

More likely every game is going to be on WatchESPN. WatchESPN != ESPN3.

Go to what's live now and try to watch what's currently on ESPNU. You'll get this:
espnuwatchespn.png

Unless your provider is one of these, you wont be getting the feed if it is listed as ESPNU only, like the game tonight is.

Call ESPN... there number is a few pages back... Explain to them how they are wrong... You are one of the main reasons this thread got people confused... I knew I had run into this problem before.. I dont have cable at all. So I use ESPN3 all the time as well. I believe it was the Iowa bowl game last year that was on ESPN or ESPN2 that wasnt on ESPN3.. But it actually happens more often then not.. But is not happening as much as in the past

Maybe I'm wrong, I don't want to mislead people. Just in my experience if it's in "upcoming" at espn3.com it means it's upcoming on espn3.com

It's entirely possible they put it on there to screw with people or it's a mistake.

Everyone forget what I said, consider it a surprise if it's on espn3.

Talk to the person who called the ESPN3 support line and asked if the game would be on? Because he was told no.
