That sucks, enjoyed the show.

With the exception of giggles we were very lucky to have some good local shows. Lots of towns only get national shows piped in.

Yup, Omaha gets Mike and Mike on AM 1620, and Todd and Tyler on AM 590 (local, but not sports), which replaced Stephen A. Smith (who sucked), which replaced Steve Czaban (who rocked).

Afternoon on 590 is Hartman and Friends, or whatever crappy show that is on Fox's drive-time, and 1620 has the local show Unsportsmanlike Conduct, which isn't too bad. Obviously a local show in Omaha is going to cover the Huskers a TON, but these guys have experience in many other areas of the country, so they know other stuff too. They are the #1 show for their market in that timeslot (Giggles was #7 when he was here, from what I read a while back).

One of my favorite moments from the show: Deace being a little dramatic!

It's actually now "The Loose Cannons" with Steve Hartman, Pat O'Brien (the guy who for however many years has been doing "Entertainment Tonight" or whichever crappy tabloid show it is and before that CBS Sports), and Vic "The Brick" Jacobs (Feeling You!). It's quirky, but I'd much rather listen to the PMS show in that time slot, which I rarely get to listen to because it's on so late in the evening.

We won't.

Jon, just heard the news, this freakin' kills me, you and Deace know more about college football than all the pundits on ESPN combined. I absolutely love the show and download the podcasts all the time because of my work schedule.

I understand the reasoning behind it all, but man o'man this will leave a huge void in local sports programming.

Goodluck in all future endeavors!! Will miss the show!!

Jay in Ankeny!

Damn, that's too bad. I listened to the podcast just about every day. Even though I didn't really care for Jon's "I only really care about the hawks and the the things that affect them" attitude, overall it was a good show. DM sports radio is better with Deace on it.

My wish for the new morning show? CW and Blum. Probably too much to ask.

HAVE to have Blum though, love ya CW, but you and Blum have chemistry like Jon and Deace. That would be a great show!

Anyone else take CW's silence on this subject as a sign that something might be in the works? I'd love Hassel and CW in the morning. Last time they were together we got radio gold. They could have a segment where they have Jon Walters comes on and Hassel can pretend to be Giggles.

I appreciate everything CW does for the Cyclones, but let's face it, he isn't good on the radio. I really hope KXNO would go with Blum who has tons more experience and natural ability. Blum and Hassel would be fantastic.

No offense to C-Willy, but this post is right on.

I agree with this. I would welcome Brent Blum on the radio too. He has polish.
