Yes. Great for the state and the fans.

No. Until the clones start winning on a regular basis.

I think those are the two sides...and I take yes.

* And if the Big Ten expands and makes it so Iowa cannot play isu...what option do they have exactly? Look at it from both sides.

My answers are in italics. I thought I'd join in this thread since my co-host already did. BTW - I said the most mundane thing at 6 pm on Tuesday and it's a 8 page thread...and you wonder why I think you guys are way too sensitive.

So far in this thread I've been called a Iowa lover/hater, a Nebraska lover/hater ... and other names...I think you guys want to put me in a box ... but I don't fit in a box - so it's frustrating cause it would be so easy to label me. I don't say things to get people worked up but believe me ... it would be VERY easy to do so. Just read this thread....

2 points, no the Iowa game is not our superbowl. That argument made sense about 15 years ago. If it was our superbowl you wouldn't have seen the reaction that we had last year after beating NU. You said you had a friend in tears after that game. Does that sound like the reaction of someone who already lost their "superbowl"? Or would fans spend their hard-earned money and vacation to follow the team to Phoenix if they had already lost their "superbowl"? It's a rivalry game, our only real rivalry game. That's it.

Also it's funny you complain about us trying to put you in a box in the same post as you try to put us in a box calling us all too sensitive. People can have legitimate disagreement with you without being too sensitive.

Iowa Hawkeye fans are not like you guys. Nebraska football fans are not like guys. This isn't an Iowan-thing...this is a Iowa State thing.

People have always disagreed with some of my opinions but I've never seen the level of insecurity, starting with your Athletic Director, from a group of fans about their sports teams. Some of you, not all, want sunshine pumpers to tell you that mommy and daddy will always tuck you in at night.

Iowa State fans are a passionate, fun loving group and MOST of my friends here in Iowa ARE CYCLONES. I don't dislike the teams or the coaches but when you get death threats over sports opinions ... some of you are flat out off your rockers.

Over arching, blanket statements are bad. I realize you will probably cite the end of your second paragraph to counter this, I will just preemptively cite the bolded print. You can't have your cake and eat it too Matt.

Quote us right: We said NATIONALLY .... Iowa has nothing to gain NATIONALLY from the CyHawk game

so what? What do they have to gain by playing Eastern Illinois, or Ball State?

Unless you expect Iowa to schedule Miami, USC, and Oklahoma every year for the non conference, that is a silly argument to make.

One year isn't turning the corner. I wish it was but it isn't. I feel that Rhoads is trying his hardest to make that move but it won't happen until there are consistent winning seasons.

I agree but I will add that until Rhoads starts beating Kansas-KState-Mizzou-Baylor and Texas Tech regularly, this football program is going now where to getting the respect you guys want to garner...

Oh really, I learned something today. I have the kill switch and have for the 14 years I've done sports talk, I know you'd think I'd have learned something in that amount of time!
I end conversations to make the show flow, nothing more and thank every caller for taking time to call, not just ones that agree with either one of us.

Here's a link to the least read blog at KXnO. It won't help you're KXnO's afternoon show hates ISU arguement but thought you might enjoy nonetheless.

I agree and think that if we annually compete for a spot in the top 5 of the big 12 it would be turning the corner. I think that is what you are saying as well.

Really? Death Threats? Did you call the cops? I don't believe it. Blank out the name and produce the death threat. Produce some evidence of this. This is a serious charge.

Wow! Reading through this post is PATHETIC! There is really 9 pages to this thread trying to read into what 1 radio show host says and ripping him apart about it! Personally, the Matt and Miller show is the only show I will listen to in this town. I like the fact that Matt gives a non Iowan view on Iowa and ISU and is not just jumping on the homers bandwagon.

I would have to agree. If some of you want to give Matt a reason to call us touchy, this thread would be it.

:notworthy: THANK YOU 06Panther, but I am afraid your logic is wasted on Sportstalkmatt.

And, as I posted before, there is NOTHING in it for USC, Miami or Florida to schedule Iowa either.
