My Take --- I believe that he's been offered. I do not believe that Greg has already accepted the offer. Take that for what it is worth.

At this point he has to take it, there is no coming back, unless all of this is just rumors.

Where is the guy that nominated the "What if Greg went to Creighton" post for ******** post of the week?

Is this for real? Why do other schools hire away our poor performing coaches? IT makes zero sense to me. I can only hope that we hire a CPR equivalent for the MBB team. I think the Mayor is available!

I bet Nurse goes with him.

The greatest bball player in ISU history is basically lame duck after 2 days on the job. I bet he's wondering why he left Flint for this.

I bet he gets hired by the new coach. His knowlege of ISU is very valuable.

I think we give the HC job to Nurse, I have been saying this for a month, just thought GMac would be going back to UNI.

As a young professional entering the job market I would really like to take a class from coach McDermott in contract negotiations. The guy doesn't use an agent and he still gets amazing results. How could you not take that offer even if you wanted to stay?

Can't believe that in less than 24 hours, this goes from a wild prediction to now likely true

I agree, keep Nurse around on an interim basis and see if he can get the job done. If not, we have next year's off-season to find a new coach.

Action 3 News in Omaha is reporting that Creighton has offered Greg McDermott a 10 year, 9 million dollar deal and that McDermott has accepted the offer already. Working on more right now.

Holy Cow!!!!!!! Time to celebrate. This is way too late in the day to start drinking.

OK, let's say this is true. I would be willing to bet that JP was not holding him back. Of course, we will never know.

Now, instead of everyone celebrating this could we show some respect. No, Greg was not in the least bit successful here. However, he gave 5 years to this program and University. I believe he gave all he had and it just didn't work for whatever reason. I still think he is a great guy, and I still think he represented the University pretty well when he was here. We didn't have the NCAA breathing down our backs. He had his share of bad luck and hung tough. You can say he quit on us. Fine, but you better realize a lot of you quit on him first while he still was plugging away and giving his all up until the last day. Some of you will celebrate with joy. That's fine, but at least recognize that he did the thing that was probably right for us. I do not think he would rather be at Creighton. I think he wants to be here but he sees the writing on the wall and I really believe part of his decision involved this being better for us, not just him.

This is all under the pretense this is true.
