Garth Brooks at the State Fair.

Was this the time that Ricky Van Shelton had to cancel and almost everyone got refunds on their tickets because they had never heard of Garth? If so I was there and it was a fabulous concert, the best thing was that Garth had just played at the Boone county fair the night before or something like that.

Bush, Goo Goo Dolls and No Doubt in Hilton

Highlights - just walking up to the ticket booth and being in line in front of some people that camped out in sleeping bags and overslept.

Lowlights - still getting crappy seats

Most memorable moment - when Gwen Steffani (who was pretty unknown at the time) came out in her sports bra sports pants outfit my buddy said "Dude she is going to take that bra off". I replied "We are so far away how are we going to know?"

Now lets start a contest for the coldest concert ever. My entry is October 8th, 2000 - Pearl Jam outdoors at Alpine Valley - 26 degrees. Great way to introduce my new wife to Pearl Jam.

Beach Boys 1975 UNI-Dome. Drank (chugged) grape Annie Greensprings...drove over a parking barrier at the Cedar Falls McDonalds. A truly great time...I was told.

Dave Matthews at Folsom field. In 2000? Or so? Wyclef opened that show! That was just as good! But the best part was they made the show into a DVD so I could relive it. That was nice!

Also saw Dave at Alpine a couple years ago with Jeff Coffin (saxophonist) who was replacing LeRoi who actually died a month later. Heard he was at that show in the back. Don't know for sure. Thought that was kind of special though.

Elton John at Hilton. The big-hat, big-shoes, funny-glasses, sequin-studded Elton John.

Second was John Denver at CY Stephens, before anyone had ever heard of him.

I remember getting the tickets for that show and saying "who the **** is No Doubt?" Little did i know there were going to have the best set of the night. Bush was good and the Goo Goo Dolls were horribly boring.
