This, and #1, is correct. It was no coincidence that listening to Eric Heft, he was waiting for this group to blow the game. He has seen it too many times.
Now, maybe this group is figuring out how to win, we will see. Hopefully that is the case, and this season can be successful.
And for whoever said that about Tinsley he was right to a point. Curtis Stinson was as tough as any player that has ever put on a Cyclone uniform. He wanted to win, and played that way, more than anyone I have seen in the last 3 1/2 years.
Tonight I thought that Gilstrap stepped up and started to take that role. His body language said "I don't care, we are winning this game," That needs to infect the rest of the team.
Mac doesn't deserve to use that line... However, a win in Lincoln is better than the last two games (losses) in Lincoln.
There is no commitment to get the ball to Craig in good offensive spots.
I am hoping that as the offense is run through Gilstrap more and more, that commitment could be made. I think that the fact that there is so much dribbling also hurts. People aren't looking to enter the ball.
Craig also needs to step up and demand that he gets used as well.
Again, as per the last post, it seems that the whole tone of the way we play is to react to the other team.
I don't reminisce for the days of Larry Eustachy, but I always thought that he had the best comment. He always wanted to "get our game on the floor." This is completely different philosophy, and that comes from the mindset of micromanaging every possession like Greg has done his whole career.
I never understand this either....Look we are all Iowa State fans. I don't think that anyone (even this guy) wants us to lose.
What he has asked about is accountability. When does Greg become responsible for what happens???
When you personalize this, to the point where you defend the coach more than the program, it tends to make all of the good points you may make (I don't know if there are any, I have not read any of your stuff) lose credibility.
So many on here are all about Greg, not the program. We are Cyclones, not McDermotts.
I also don't agree with all of the people taking shots at the guy yet either. There are valid criticisms of the way that he has run this program, but all of us want him to win. Let's see how it plays out, but when he makes mistakes it's fine to comment on them. Just like when he makes good decisions it is great to comment on those as well.

Tackling was only legal on the Cyclone end of the floor last night. Didn't matter, though, we had our usual crappy performance from the line.
I thought our guard play was atrocious. We really missed Colvin last night. They turned it over and could not get it inside. But, hey, a win is a win - no points for style.
One thing the group of people I was with last night kept saying, was that this was likely a game we lose both earlier this year and the last three years. Really ugly for the most part, but a win that shows the team is maturing.
