I don't know, that Dateline skit is one of my all-time favorites. I suppose since its new it can't be good, right? SNL is just as good now as it used to be, the thing is, the only skits people remember or watch from past years are the good ones, so it appears like they were all good. They were not.

Nope, it's not that it's new - I find plenty of the newer shows funny. It's not that I don't think the Dateline skit is funny, it just doesn't strike me as "all-time great."

I'm old school SNL. My top picks are:

1. Eddie Murphy's Little Richard Simmons

2. tie, skits with Gildna Radner as Lisa Loopner and Bill Murray as her boyfriend Todd; or Radner as Roseanne Roseannadanna on Weekend Update (actually anything with Gildna Radner. She was a genius)

3. Steve Martin and Dan Aykroyd as "two wild and crazy guys"

4. John Belushi as Samurai Futaba

5. At the end of one show Steve Martin comes out and starts with, "What is that thing?" What the heck is that." "You kids stay off of that thing."

6. The Killer Bees

Will Farrell is at a baseball game of his sons and keeps saying, "get on the bag Timmy." Keeps talking to the fans around him and keeps yelling at his son to get on the bag. Then pulls out a 6 pack and starts asking the other parents is they want a beer while yelling again at his son. I can't find it on Youtube but I die everytime I see it.

The Bill Brasky skits were great. Why? Because Bill Brasky's family crest is a barracuda eating Neil Armstrong.

Of the recent stuff, the skits with Kristen Wiig playing the creepy singing sister with baby hands gets me every time. It's so absurd that I laugh all the way through it. And, say what you will about Justin Timberlake, but his episodes have been the high points of the last few seasons.

Almost anything that Farley did was hilarious. The current SNL cast is slightly funnier than it had been for the past 5 years or so, because some of the women are pretty funny. It had gotten really bad for a few years there.
