Only needs 120 yards to hit 1000 with 2 games to go.
Isu would have 3 consecutive years with a 1000 yards receiver.
Would make him, what, only the 5th receiver all time to hit 1000 yard?
**** iowa, but nebraska would miss a bowl game if they lose. i wish the earth would split open and suck both of these teams into the deepest pit of darkest earth. if they could both lose, id certainly choose that option.
I think im gonna root for iowa (just puked in mouth). iowa is already bowl eligible, and won't represent the legends division in the title game no matter what.
i guess i want nebby to lose more
that would also mean that nebby would be at BEST tied for second to last place in the worst division of any p5 conference. and nebby would be staying home for bowl season for the 3rd year in a row. that hasn't happened since the late 50's early 60's. historically bad (for them).
Just saw this and donations have surpassed $100,000 now. It sky rocketed after the upset win over Duke. They are for Nathan Bain's family. He is the one who hit the winning layup. His family's house was damaged in the hurricane in Sept.
This is a great thing, but I am curious if the NCAA will be their douchebag self and not allow the family to collect as this seams like it could go against the whole paying college athletes thing, which as I understand, players still cant make money from their likeness for a couple years.
A few of my favorite CF comments from November 2019. Some are edited for clarity or brevity. As usual, if I missed anything good, feel free to add.
Splitting into two posts, due to high number of quotable.
PART 1 of 2
First, a leftover I missed from September:
From the thread “Non-conference schedule TV times" @Messi: Dish carries Pac-12 network. Find a bar/restaurant that has it. @IASTATE07: And risk going out in public? I think not.
@jdoggivjc: Titanic, 1912. I want to know if that board actually was too small for two people or if Rose was being a selfish ***** and Jack was unnecessarily being a knight in shining armor.
@mapnerd: I would love to go back to the moment aliens started human life on this planet. @farewayfool: Aliens built the pyramids. @CoachHines3: You're goddamn right they did.
@Remo Gaggi: Sometime in 1979, when Hayden Fry is on his way to interview for the hoks job. Run him off the road into a ditch.
@Knownothing: (@MeanDean) Maybe for you it’s to meet Yoko before John did and try to not allow that meeting to happen.
MeanDean: Mankind would be better for it, but personally, I could not make the sacrifice.
@CyCrazy: Go back to the day Hardee’s management decided to get rid of the monster burger and kick them in the nuts.
@merx: On the moon to witness the moon landing. @Knownothing: One small step for man … wait, who the hell are you and how did you get up here?
From “Questions for Weekly Mailbag” (for week of Nov. 3) @Cyched: At a movie theater, which arm rest is yours? @GTO: I probably spend more time on these type of questions than the serious football/basketball questions. @Cyched: My questions aren’t serious to you, GTO?
@Cyclonee: Can I change my name to Darlingstone Dubar?
From “Anderson, Leech have entered draft portal” @DurangoCy: That was quick. @DFWClone: I’ve heard that before.
From “And Boom Goes the Dynamite" @Knownothing
We have an all-name team for sure:
My favorite “thread crossover” of the month --> If you followed these individually, you’ll appreciate the overlap. Consensus answer to each seems to be “Probably Taco Time.” Links included to follow the general trajectory.
Hookers on Welch in the ‘80s by @2020cy: I swear there was a place on Welch between the old burrito place and new taco place that had hookers. Might be (mis)remembering.
Not sure why, but I always enjoy watching this rivalry. Probably since its the only rivalry left played on Thanksgiving. Anyways, tied up at 14 in the 3rd.
Part of the problem who is shooting them. Nixon's awful 3 point percentage certainly doesn't dissuade him from continuing to hoist them up.
If you're a guard who is not a threat from the outside, life becomes really difficult. I worry that the book on Iowa State is already out - sag in and deny penetration.
11 minutes to go and down 9. Hope we can get hot, but not optimistic.
A good thing about these early season tournaments is it gives you a great assessment of your strengths and weaknesses, and ours seem pretty clear. It will be interesting to see how Prohm tries to maximize our strengths and minimize our weaknesses.

With special guest CycloneRulzzz
@dafarmer asked (last week after cutoff): Serious question. 3rd and 1 on the Texas 31, why in the #### call a quarterback rollout? Maybe let Hall run the ball.
Rulzzz: Going to agree with you on this one. Give Breece the rock. Pants: Honestly, I don’t even remember this play it was so long ago. I know the common sense thing is to just give it to the back, but I’m not opposed to rolling out a quarterback that can run. You’re making the defense plan to cover more of the field that way and have the potential to get a big play as well. GTO: Have to agree with you on this. It just always seems like our staff overthinks short yardage situations and then trip on their own feet. Keep it simple, stupid!
@jcyclonee wasting a question on this: I have a very important question that I need to ask. Is it too late to submit it?
Pants: It’s never too late to submit. Unless it’s after 10pm Iowa time on Monday. Then it’s too late. GTO: Yes, you should see your doctor to get that growth checked out. Rulzzz: Yes
@Sigmapolis asks: What are your five favorite albums (in no particular order) and briefly why?
Who starts the *last* game of this basketball season -- not senior night, where the seniors take precedence, but the last game in KC or in the postseason?
GTO: Jock Jams Vol. 1-5. Barring any injuries, same 5 that started the season. Rulzzz: “Endless Summer” by the Beach Boys. Beach Boys were the first group I remember getting into. I’m kind of cheating because this is a compilation of hits album but every song is good.
“Full Moon Fever” by Tom Petty. Huge Petty fan and this is my favorite Petty Album.
“Dookie” by Green Day. Probably the album that really put them on the map.
“Americana” Offspring. Just a solid album from start to finish.
“Doggystyle” by Snoop Dogg. Huge fan of late 80’s early 90’s rap and this is my favorite.
I also like the current starting 5. I like having a weapon like Conditt coming off the bench. Pants: -“Brothers” by The Black Keys. The first like, 8 or so songs are the best opening to any album I’ve ever heard.
-”Rubber Soul” by The Beatles. Always have been a huge Beatles fan. And Norwegian Wood is one of my favorite Beatles songs.
-”Wonderful Wonderful” by The Killers. LOVE The Killers. Best band I’ve ever seen live. It wasn’t originally an album I loved, but man, has it grown on me over time. “The Man” and “The Calling” are some fantastic songs.
-”rose ave.” by You+Me. This is a strange one that most people on a sports board will probably say “WTF?” to. You+Me was essentially just Dallas Green, of City and Colour, getting together with Alecia Moore, better known as P!nk, and saying, “hey, let’s do a folk music album together.” Definitely won’t be a big hit with most that read this, but man, their voices together are just phenomenal and how they can mix up who takes the high lines and who takes the low lines are just kind of magical to listen to if you’re really into harmony.
-I don’t know if live albums count, but “Near Truths and Hotel Rooms Live” by Todd Snider is a joy to listen to. Todd Snider is like, a folk/Americana modern day musician and he’s great (also have seen him twice in concert and he’s fantastic). He’s a great story teller, and if you listen to his normal albums, you don’t get that sense of that. He tells the story of the Ballad of Devil’s Backbone Tavern and it’s like a 10 minute story for a 3 minute song, and it’s hilarious. Below is a link to it. Login to view embedded mediaAlso, I’m not planning for injuries, so the end of season lineup ends the way it started. I like this lineup, and think we’ll get some of those 3 point shooting kinks worked out.
