Just saw this and donations have surpassed $100,000 now. It sky rocketed after the upset win over Duke. They are for Nathan Bain's family. He is the one who hit the winning layup. His family's house was damaged in the hurricane in Sept.
This is a great thing, but I am curious if the NCAA will be their douchebag self and not allow the family to collect as this seams like it could go against the whole paying college athletes thing, which as I understand, players still cant make money from their likeness for a couple years.

I wonder if it would be ok if the money went to the church and then used some of it to rebuild their house calling it/ making it a parsonage?

I would think if the SID set it up it would be legal though. Kid just got lucky and beat a team lots of people dislike.

Agree. Then make the family build a home for whatever the final donation money is for someone else.
 
Just leave the GFM open until his eligibility expires? He doesn't receive the money until it closes, yes?
