I-Phone "secret" tracking maps...

I've always been spooked about real and perceived "privacy" issues but this caught my eye.

I found the maps of my last 30 days travel and while I'm not embarrassed about where I may - or may not have - been, a man MUST maintain a sense of mystery.

For my dear, trusting and adorable wife - the map incorrectly showed me at The Jigglers Lounge when I was truly and sincerely at the adult book store across the street. ;)

*CF Olympics Sign-Up Thread*

Slated to begin on July 23rd, the 2020 Summer Olympics were "postponed" because of extenuating circumstances:

EXTREME INTEREST IN PLAYING GAMES ON CF

I've come up with a few games so far that everyone can compete in that will be a break from mafia. I won't go too far into detail yet, but I'll list what I'm calling them.

War
Survival
High/low
Logo Maker

I'll sprinkle in some other games and competitions as I think of things. All of these games will require AT MOST 1 post per day. Some will require you to out-think the other people here (you can do it!). Otherwise, I expect the actual thread to be littered with a whole lot of crap.

We'll start next Monday with a game. We'll be off next Friday since it's a holiday weekend.

Be sure to dibs a country that is yet unclaimed when you sign up.

Get in!

CDC: Bagged salads linked to parasite outbreak in Midwest

Supermarket chains including Aldi and Hy-Vee sold the recalled salad mixes that have been linked to 122 confirmed cases of Cyclospora infection.

More than 100 people in the Midwest have been sickened by a parasite infection linked to bagged salad mixes, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Tuesday.

A total of 122 people had confirmed cases of Cyclospora infections, an intestinal parasite that can cause diarrhea, according to the CDC.

Cases have been reported in seven states — Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska and Wisconsin — and 19 people have been hospitalized.

Bagged salads containing carrots, red cabbage and iceberg lettuce from supermarket chains ALDI, Hy-Vee and Jewel-Osco have been linked to the outbreak, though it's possible that there are other sources of infection as well, the CDC said.

Monday, ALDI recalled its Little Salad Bar brand Garden Salad. Late last week, Hy-Vee recalled its 12 oz. Hy-Vee Garden Salad and Jewel-Osco recalled its Signature Farms Garden Salad.

While cases have been reported in just seven states, the CDC is advising residents of Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin to check their homes for the recalled salad blends and throw them out.

The parasite Cyclospora cayetanensis causes an intestinal infection called cyclosporiasis that can be treated with antibiotics.

The CDC noted that there are several Cyclospora outbreaks each summer.

In 2018, a Cyclospora outbreak linked to McDonald's salad sickened more than 500 people.

So... Who's going to make a Jack Trice film?

I'm a major cinephile, but I don't particularly love sports movies. That said, this is a story I would love to see on the silver screen (even if ISU weren't my alma mater).

The topic is as relevant as ever, and it doesn't hurt that both ISU and UMN have had more national visibility than usual in the past couple years.

Long shot or would Hollywood go for it? I saw someone already wrote a screenplay, though I couldn't speak to it's quality (haven't read it).

An eSports introduction (feedback needed)

Hey Fanatics -- I wanted to introduce you to our friends @Audentio. They will be helping us put together our plans for eSports events as we start working towards the launch of our redesigned site later this summer. In this thread sometime today, they will be posting a survey for anyone interested in playing in an eSports event to fill out so we can get the ball rolling on how that will look and how many people will be participating.

We really appreciate everyone's feedback!!

Starting lineup for 2020-21 Season

We're starting to see the dust settle after the transfers this off-season. I would be surprised if we see any more player movement now.
The departures are Haliburton going pro and Lewis, Griffin, and Grill transferring out. Then we have the incoming freshman class and three transfers.
Jalen Coleman-Lands is a senior grad-transfer and immediately eligible.
Tyler Harris and Blake Hinson are juniors and will submit waiver requests for eligibility.

Stanz wrote an article in early June looking at some potential lineups based on different scenarios. At the time there was talk of Justin Smith being added and Blake Hinson was not on many, if any, Iowa State radars.
https://cyclonefanatic.com/2020/06/stanz-examining-possibilities-for-iowa-states-2020-21-mbb-roster/

Here is the basic flow of logic that I see from Jared (and agree with) -
1. Bolton, Coleman-Lands, and Young are starting at the 2, 3, and 5
2. If Harris is eligible then he is starting instead of Tre Jackson at the 1
3. If Justin Smith is eligible then he is starting instead of Javan Johnson at the 4

I see a couple questions to address -
1. Who starts between Javan Johnson and Blake Hinson if Harris is the 1?
The general thought was that Justin Smith had a higher pedigree and more experience at a higher level of college ball than Javan Johnson. Hinson has one less year and obviously plays a different style yet has a similar body type.

2. Does having Tre Jackson at the 1 change that decision?
We've heard rumblings of JJ's playmaking ability during his sit-out year and his 3pt shot on paper is better than Hinson. Perhaps if Harris is out of the picture then there would need to be more minutes for an on-ball playmaker.

I haven't done much tape review of these new players and obviously we have a ways to go before the season starts up.
My gut says Harris is a lock at the 1 if eligible and Hinson a lock at the 4 if eligible. Then Prohm uses JJ as a 6th man super-sub depending on the needs of the game situation.

Blake Hinson Committed To ISU!

This news needed it's own thread. The Stretch PF the staff has been looking for all offseason. Huge!

@EvanDaniels Ole Miss transfer Blake Hinson just verbally committed to Iowa State, a source tells @247Sports. Plans to apply for a wavier to be eligible immediately. Averaged 10.1 PPG and 4.6 RPG this past season.

ISU not on the BB list but gives some insight into Blake's game
https://bustingbrackets.com/2020/06...-teams-target-ole-miss-transfer-blake-hinson/

"Originally a three-star recruit, Hinson was a surprise impact player for Ole Miss as a freshman. He started all 31 games, averaging 8.3 ppg while producing a career-high 26 points against Mississippi State. His production increased to double figures this past season (10.1 ppg) while grabbing 4.6 rpg. Hinson’s shooting numbers dipped to under 40% from the field but there were many games where the forward was a leading contributor for the Rebels.

The roster for Ole Miss has undergone many changes this offseason, particularly in the frontcourt. Grad transfers Dimencio Vaughn and Romello White are arriving, along with Samford sit-out forward Robert Allen. And with top-40 guard Matthew Murrell set to join as well, the room at the small and power forward positions has become crowded. And don’t forget that K.J. Buffen, who plays a similar position as Hinson, is the preferred option at the four-spot due to his rebounding abilities.

Rather than risk fewer minutes and possibly being relegated to the bench as a junior, Hinson has elected to move on. Expect a ton of interest for him at the power conference level, as the 6’7 athlete can play and defend multiple positions on the court. If he can shoot the ball at a higher clip, Hinson can be an all-conference player at his next stop."

On That Note: I've Seen Fire

Welcome back to "On That Note," CF’s weekly go-to for music exploration, hosted by @MeanDean, @cyclones500 and myself.

This week with official start of summer beginning we are looking at songs with references to these 3 words: Fire, Flame, and Burn. Songs by artists with a connection to these words is also allowed.

Songs that aren't allowed however are songs that talk about being fired from a job or firing a gun.

As always if the reference only in the lyrics please provide the lyric with your video submission.

Another sign of the apocalypse... Ron Jeremy

Just to be sure - there is NO tolerance for crimes against women and children... NONE.

But Ron Jeremy is not just ugly but kind of rapey. The part that caught my eye was another allegation was dismissed due to lack of evidence. I mean, C'MON man. "We've" all seen his cinematic exploits and the one thing I would say is that there should be a HUGE amount of evidence to show the court.

Fishing kayaks

Anyone have any experience with fishing kayaks? Live in Ankeny and wouldn’t mind having one so I could go drop a line and catch a few walleye in big creek. I’m wondering what everyone’s experience is with them. What kind they have, size, stability, comfort, things they like about them or would change about them . Any input would be appreciated! I’m 6’2 and about 220 so something stable would be preferred.
