Big 12 Portal Tracker

I haven't seen one of these yet. I figured i'd start one.

Here are the big things i've seen after perusing recruiting sites.

Arizona- a nice TE addition from Illinois

ASU- recovered from losing their QB1 by bringing a guy in from Kentuky

BYU- no big moves

Baylor- a decent amount of attrition including losing their leading rusher

Cincinnati- looks like a number of guys are following Sorsby out the door

Colorado- they seem to be reinforcing the defence. uncharacteristically quiet...

Houston- got an old Tulane RB from Oregon

The Good Guys- JFR!!!

Kansas- similar to Colorado

K-State- lost a lot of top end defensive talent to bigger money schools

OSU- The Oklahoma State Mean Green!

TCU- not much notable since losing hoover

Tech- got Sorsby

Mid-Florida- decent amount of guys in the portal. not a lot of additions yet.

Utah- lost a lot of guys to the portal, some are probably heading to Michigan

WVU- a nice commit from the Oklahoma QB

Side by side/UTV

Looking at replacing the four-wheeler with a side by side. What's your experience with the different brands? Can Am Defender and Polaris Ranger seem to be a toss-up between the two. The Kawasaki Ridge looks like a decent option as well. Plan is to use for light work around the property, gravel travel, and rural riding. Mostly pleasure riding. Closed cab with heat. Those of you that have two seaters, do you wish you had the four-seater or is that overkill. Will primarily be the wife and I, but on occasion the extra room may be handy, but not sure if worth the expense. TIA

Wazzu Safety Brody Miller commits to Iowa State

Washington State safety Brody Miller is transferring to Iowa State. Miller redshirted as a freshman in 2025, appearing in five games. The 6'1, 178 pounder was the No. 24 overall prospect out of Minnesota in the Class of 2024.

No. 3 ISU will need Jamarion Batemon's "sparks" Wednesday at Baylor

Kicker Adlai Lounsbury commits to Iowa State

Washington State kicker Adlai Lounsbury commits to Iowa State. The Van Meter native didn't appear in any games as a true freshman in 2025, bringing four years of eligibility to Ames.

Iowa State Scores Major Portal Win with Toledo transfer Braden Awls

Iowa State earned a commitment from their top portal prospect in Toledo transfer Braden Awls. I had the chance to talk with him about his visit and what he is excited about in coming to Iowa State. Check out all of that and more below.

Peacock

Does anyone know if Sunday's game will also be covered on NBC/Sports Net (not sure the exact name). I have seen other peacock games also streaming on a NBC Sports channel on YoutubeTV. Just getting exhausted of all of these subscriptions as an old person.

Washington State WR Carter Pabst commits to Iowa State

Iowa State lands their eighth Washington State transfer portal commit with the addition of wide receiver Carter Pabst.

Iowa State earns a commitment from Tulane WR transfer

Iowa State got another big-time transfer portal commitment tonight. This time, it is Tulane WR Omari Hayes. Check out Hayes below.

Records for Christmas?

I got the Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii double LP released in May 2025.
My Freshman year ('97) I was at the record store on Lincoln Way across from campus and found this version (released in '72?) of the soundtrack. I didn't have any money so I came back the next day ready to buy it and of course it was gone.

Anyone get anything good?

New ISU Podcast

I don’t know how many of you have seen, but former players Keith Schrage and Kent Anderson have started a new ISU podcast called Tracking the Storm. Looks like they’re putting one out every couple weeks. So far they’ve had on Dave Archer and Jim Walden, and they said they’ll have former ISU offensive coordinator Mack Brown on a future episode.

ASU Dual (1/06/26)

Quick weight by weight breakdown with the wrestlestat prediction listed (of wrestlers in most recent dual). Dresser stated that a few of our guys could be back Tuesday though.

125 - #59 Perryman vs #80 Moreno - wrestlestat has this as a 13-4 MD for Perryman. I expect it to be a bit closer, but still would love to see Ethan get a W.

133 - #123 Meza vs #7 Larkin - wrestlestat has this 17-2 TF for Larkin. Would assume there is familiarity here which could help Meza, but still a tough one for him.

141 - #4 Echemendia vs #41 Manville - wrestlestat says 11-4 Ech. I do believe Manville is better than 41, but I’d also expect Ech to work him on their feet for bonus.

149 - #7 Frost vs #20 Larkin - wrestlestat has Larkin winning 10-7. I believe this is a match that Jacob can and may win if it is close late. I like his tank. I could also see Larkin getting a flurry early, the marquee match up. Wouldn’t surprise me at all for ASU to flip and try to start 157 as I believe Larkin manages weight for 149.

157 - #61 Naaktgeboren vs #34 McLane - wrestlestat says 7-6 McLane. A schance for Naak to bounce back after Stanford against decent competition.

165 - #26 Euton vs #21 Ruiz - wrestlestat has it 9-7 in favor of Euton. 2nd best match of the dual. Another chance for Euton to get a solid ranked win.

174 - Riggins vs Valencia - no prediction here as Riggins is listed at 165. I believe he will win by decision here. He has his flaws but his performances are pretty steady.

184 - #24 Dean vs #50 Addison - wrestlestat has this 6-5 Addison. I liked what I saw out of Dean on Sunday, he was a bit more on the attack and I’ll take him in a close one here.

197 - #79 Carter vs #162 Schunke - wrestlestat has this as a victory by decision over either of ASU’s 197 options. Would be great for CJ to pick up a win in spot duty.

285 - #1 Bastida vs #14 Szuba - wrestlestat says 8-4 Bastida. I say bonus points Bastida.

Wrestlestat prediction: 16-14 ISU (doesn’t include 174)

My prediction: 23-10 good guys.
