Yep. He was the pseudo special teams coordinator since 2023 (I think CMC also helped).

Poteat also did a lot with special teams, IIRC. Will be nice to have a larger special teams staff and allow more of the position coaches to focus on that work.

My understanding is that he he worked mainly with the specialists (kickers, punters, and long snappers).

Jordan Langs was the coordinator in 2023, but I believe he was fired during the season. Rory Walling is the only person other than Grande with a listed Special team in the title in 2025, but I think he was an analyst.

Forgot about Langs. He had a lot of hype coming in as a former HC at Indiana Weslyan and there was a high level RB recruit who's family loved him. If I remember right, the staff wasn't impressed with his work ethic. He got out of coaching entirely after he left here.

We need a coach that has the only responsibility is to coach the blockers on the punt return to stay away from the returner and don’t block your guy into the returner. Take care of that and I’m good.

I don't care how they staff it, I just want one season to go by where we don't make a huge blunder receiving a punt at a critical juncture of a game.

I think Lang has spent time in a lot of places. I talked to him once at a kids camp and he was telling me some story about when he worked with Pete Carroll or something.
