When do you consider an opinion 'Dumb'?

I've used the 'Dumb' emoji here a few times on some posts and it got me thinking. What makes you consider an opinion dumb?
Is it when it's something you disagree with?
When it's something you know is factually incorrect?
Some other reason?
I almost never use a negative emoji. I'll use positive ones all the time, but if any of those reasons happen, I'll respond with why I think it was dumb rather than just use the emoji. Sometimes the response I get will make me realize that I interpreted it incorrectly and it wasn't really a dumb take.

They really should just get rid of the "Dumb" button. There are two guys on here that just rate everything dumb and that is in fact dumb. When someone "Dumbs" my post. I always know they don't have a rational argument against what I am saying. So it actually makes me feel that I am right.

I don't use it for several reasons, one of which is because it's an insult, and, worse, it's intended as an insult.

Cheap insults say more about the person using them than they do about whoever is being targeted.

"Disagree" is a better and more accurate emoji to use when one disagrees. However, that's also a lazy way to react. If I disagree with someone, it's more intellectually honest to respond with why I disagree. If I don't have the time or energy to do that, I just need to shut up and move on.

In a perfect world, people would honor the basic dignity of others. But, as the French are fond of saying, "La perfection n'est pas de ce monde".

Bottom line: I think the forum wizards behind the curtain should get rid of it.

I don't "Dumb" anyone's post or opinion. If I disagree, I simply use the red "X". No need to go any further than that.

There really oughta be some sort of 'selective outrage' emoji or something instead.

I usually use the 'laughing' one for that, like when someone says the players don't care for the first 5 minutes of a game or is still melting down about ISU failing to win a national title some season because they beat Kansas in January and went along with some CF podcaster saying they 'look like a Final Four team' like it just makes it so.

Wondering why Jeremiah Smith (tOSU) scored on an 85 yard bubble screen and 'Why doesn't ISU run that!!?' gets the same.

That's kind of what got me thinking about it. I've used it a few times on posts I disagreed with.

Going back I would have used 'Disagree' instead.

When the post reflects a significant level of ignorance regarding the matter at hand. Assumption: the poster has at least one semester of college education. Disagreement with my view is not part of the criteria. I may not be perfect in following this criteria, but since you asked, here it is.
