Artificial Intelligence: How are you using it in everyday life?

My company is plunging headlong into using AI and we're all tasked with becoming familiar with the ways it can help us, both as a business tool and personally. What are your go-to tools and uses?

I've started using it for more complex queries I would usually go to Google for. I've also used it to create performance review goals. I've played with generative AI for images, Teams backgrounds, custom-written songs, turning a document into a podcast, and of course, dirty limerick composition.

How about you?

Twister Sister Summary - There are Four or Five Teams that can Win It. Previewing the Big 12 Tournament

This is going to be a fun tournament! I'm always for warmer weather, but I'm hoping the Sisters heat things up inside T-Mobile!

Emotional Investment

We have fans emotionally charged during games. We have podcast hosts battling fans and fans crapping on die hard Iowa State figures. Why does this year seem so different than previous years? The emotion seems elevated because we are good and expected to win? Is this “normal” for Top 15 teams and programs? Is it because fans are spending more money (tickets, AD donations, WeWill donations, etc) than ever before? This year has felt very different as an Iowa State fan.

Personally, I’ve felt way more emotionally invested in both football and basketball because I keep telling myself “these opportunities don’t come around very often for ISU and we better damn well capitalize” and its weird, I almost feel pressure watching the games rather than sitting back and enjoying them. Anyone else feel this way? I look back and football and think how great of a season it was but it didn’t feel that way watching games. Same with basketball – the emotional swings by fans have been huge.

For basketball, I wish we would have competed for a conference title or #1 seed but it wasn’t in the cards this year. And since we can’t do either one of those, I’m trying to put all of the “will this season be a success” eggs into the NCAA tournament and, at a much lower level, the Big 12 tournament. Losing to BYU or K-State this weekend doesn’t really change the opportunity in front of this team. If they win the Big 12 tournament and/or go to the Sweet 16 or beyond, I think we’d all agree it would be a big success. If we flame out in the first weekend, we’ll all consider it a very big missed opportunity.

Big 12 Tickets for sale

I have 4 All-Session Pass tickets together for sale, unfortunately the ISU Presale was sold out when I was trying to buy them so I found the code for the Oklahoma corner (section 119) which is the same end of the arena as the ISU section, opposite corner.
Still lower bowl. Face value w fees was $91 each. I’ll make someone a better deal.

Big 12 Fundraiser for the Cardinal & Gold Collective

Here we go!!1

$10 per qualifier, $25 per champ, $200 for a Big 12 team title. Who's in?

If @Ryan Rohlk gets the matching funds verified, I will update it here.

Cyclone Wrestling Fans,
March is here, and with it comes one of the most exciting times of the year for Cyclone Wrestling! There is a huge opportunity to make an impact both on and off the mat, and Cyclone Wrestling needs your support.

March Matching: Double Your Donation!

This month, every dollar donated to the Cardinal & Gold Collective will be matched -- up to $50,000! That means your generosity goes twice as far in supporting Cyclone wrestlers through NIL opportunities that help them train, compete, and represent Iowa State at the highest level.

Your support ensures that the Collective can continue to provide resources to Cyclone athletes and keep Cyclone wrestling at the top. Whether it’s $50 or $5,000, every contribution counts -- especially when it’s doubled!

Big 12 and National CNG donation Match in the Works

I have been in conversations with our donor from last year, that did a donation match for all funds contributed to the CNG during Big 12's and Nationals, to see if we can get them on board again for this year? Last year was a $50,000 match, and I'm using my innate charms to try to squeeze $100,000 this year. So, most likely it's going to be 50k. : )

IIRC, @buf87 was instrumental in setting this up on the board, if I am wrong and don't have the person responsible correct, please forgive me. Long story short, is there any interest in doing this again from all of the ISU wrestling fans?

There has been action taking place already with people figuring their place out in the portal, and if I have learned anything the past 3 years, the month of March is going to be a madhouse, and ISU is in a position to address our needs going forward. And any contributions these next few weeks become almost doubly important.

It's going to be a lot of fun. Let me know if the Big 12 and National CNG donation match is something that you are interested in doing please, and I'll pass it along.

We are going to Tulsa and surprising a bunch of people this year that have been sleeping on ISU wrestling.
