I don't own any Roku stuff, but should be interesting to see what happens to the Roku end of things. The acquisition will be completed in the first half of 2027.
Thinking pretty hard about get a sauna for the house (inside) here soon. Looking through the options the price ranges depending on several factors but I really want one that will get hot enough to actually see benefits. There is the question of infrared or traditional? 110V or 240V? If you go 240 did you get an electrician to come in?
Any sauna people out there that can shed some light?
Iowa State earned another commitment to its 2027 recruiting class in Fort Wayne, Indiana, EDGE rusher Leslie Woodson. The 6-foot-4, 228-pound North Side High School prep visited the Cyclones from June 8-10 and committed a week later. He becomes the 20th commit in Jimmy Rogers’ 2027 class, which...
So my son just graduated from high school this week and is off to UW-Madison this fall. So incredibly proud of him, but honestly, it's been a really difficult week for me. It feels like someone suddenly put a bow on his whole childhood and I'm just not ready for this chapter of parenting to end. I've heard parents talk about this experience before, and I always rolled my eyes a bit. But damn, I get it now. I'm just not ready to say goodbye to that little kid whom I've seen grow up for these last 17 years. I'd give anything to go back in time and push him on the swing again on a warm summer day. So much of parenting is about keeping schedules and making money, and it feels like I just didn't get enough time to really soak it in, and now he's leaving the nest.
I know a lot of people here have gone through this transition. What experiences or perspectives have helped you get through it?
According to NFL insider Mike Garafolo, the Denver Broncos have signed veteran wide receiver Hakeem Butler, the reigning UFL Offensive Player of the Year, just ahead of their mandatory minicamp, which starts on Tuesday. Butler joins the team after a dominant season with the St. Louis Battlehawks, where he led the UFL with 641 receiving yards on 29 catches.
I see TJs plan as recruiting killer freshman, getting 2 years out of them and if they blow up, let them "Milan" out of the program or go to the NBA. There's always the chance we somehow retain them, but with salaries rising faster than a can of Busch Light at a ISU tailgate, I don't see that happening. The magic ingredient—transfers.
Super-smart plan by coach if you ask me.
We're going to have so much fun balling in the Big12 and into the foreseeable future. Can't wait.
We have reached the 3rd Major of the Year already. Weather forecast looking pretty good for the Week at this point other than maybe some pretty strong wind on Thursday afternoon. Could be an advantage if you get a Thursday Morning Tee Time.

Chris Williams & Brent Blum analyze why Jack Kohnen’s commitment to Iowa State this weekend was so massive. The Cyclones now have the top-ranked class in the country. Jimmy Rogers had a big weekend on the trail too. Plus, the Big 12 is in a horrible spot with this Texas Tech situation. All courtesy of Mechdyne.

Yonger just made his post college debut. Wrestled Sharipov from Bahrain at RAF 10. Pretty good showing, gave up a big 4 point throw, but got a takedown and a shot clock point to only lose 5-3. Yonger looked significantly smaller.
Also, he got choked out at the end of the first and continued the match.
Sharipov is ranked third in the world and returning world bronze. Yonger will be a contender at heavyweight to make a world team.
Iowa State earned its third commitment of the 2027 class in 4-star small forward Jack Kohnen (first reported by Joe Tipton of On3). He picked the Cyclones after also considering Nebraska and Iowa. The 6-foot-6, 215-pound Slinger, Wisconsin native, is the No. 81 overall recruit in the 2027 class...
If you could delete one person or group(not including politicians) from coming up on any news feed, social media site, article, recommendation, etc.. when you're on the web who would it be?
I think mine would be Taylor Swift. I've never clicked on anything related to her in my life, but it seems like half of what I see involves her in some way or another.
Did I miss the thread or is this it? I've been waiting to see everybody's thoughts. Personally even though the dates and times haven't been disclosed I don't think we have much to be disappointed in. Home and home with KU. Arizona and BYU at home. Would have liked Houston twice and Tech not at all ( ). I'm fairly clueless what opponents' rosters will look like and "Past performance does not guarantee future results" but the path seems favorable there for success. Could be another fun season even with the loses of key players and the addition of new untested pieces under TJ's command
USA! USA! USA! The long wait (for some of us;-) is over. I believe that we will win! U.S. is favored by about half a goal I've seen.
Hope they come out on the front foot looking to be aggressive and score. This is probably the most individually talented USMNT we've ever had at a World Cup, but can the whole be greater than the sum of their parts. Hope so. They need the collective spirit and fire and tenacity that some prior US teams have had that have overachieved (particularly on the defensive end). Those backs just saying, "I'm not letting you cut in front of me for anything" to their man. For once I'd like us to do that and get to the quarterfinals or beyond! It starts tonight!
Rahm Emanuel thought the proposed deal left 'Chicago taxpayers as the dumb money at the table'. Eight years on, he hasn't changed his mind
www.nytimes.com
"For Rahm Emanuel, the dome proved to be the final straw.
Emanuel was the 55th Mayor of Chicago between 2011 and 2019. During his final years in office, he made a decision that distinguished him from many peers across the United States: he said ‘no’ to FIFA and ‘no’ to the men’s World Cup...
The way he saw it, he was being asked to take on all the risk, while FIFA took home the rewards...
The host city proposal came with further risks. “They said in the contract that they had the right to request a dome being built over Soldier Field (the venue is open). So I said: ‘You have got to take that out.’
“They go, ‘We never exercise it, but it’s something we ask everybody to include.’ I said, ‘I don’t care if you’ve never exercised it. There will always be a first. Take it out and we can work through the other issues.’ They said, ‘We can’t take it out.’
“So I said there is not a chance I am going to have you directing me on a $50 million-$100 million expense to the taxpayers. That was the straw that broke the camel’s back. You can’t have something in there that leaves the city and the taxpayers exposed, where (FIFA) gets to decide it and I have no vote in it.”
